Ali Wong and Bill Hader have broken up after dating for nearly three years, but there doesn’t appear to be any bad blood between the pair.
The Emmy winners — aged 43 and 47, respectively — found it “too difficult to make the relationship work with Ali’s upcoming standup tour and Bill’s various film and TV projects this year,” a source told People on Wednesday.
“They are very much friends and still in touch,” the insider added. “They’re focusing on their work and kids, while continuing to support and root for each other.”
Representatives for the comedians did not immediately respond to the Daily News’ request for comment.
Prior to dating Hader, Wong was married to former Fulbright scholar Justin Hakuta, also 43, from November 2014 until their separation in April 2022. The amicable exes share daughters Mari, 10, and Nikki, 8.
Wong dubbed Hakuta her “best friend” when thanking him as part of her Golden Globes acceptance speech in January 2024, just months before their divorce was finalized that May.
“It’s because of you that I’m able to be a working mother,” Wong said in the speech, which did not mention Hader, though he accompanied her to the ceremony. The “Barry” star skipped last year’s Golden Globes, where she once again won but did not shout him out in her speech.
The “Saturday Night Live” alum, for his part, shares three daughters with writer-director Maggie Carey, his wife from 2006 to 2017. Their divorce was finalized the following year.
Wong and Hader reportedly dated for a brief time in the fall of 2022, before getting back together sometime in the following months, with Hader referring to the “Beef” star as his “girlfriend” in April.
During an October 2024 appearance on “Today with Hoda and Jenna,” Wong said she finds “value in every relationship and you learn something new from every person about what you like and what you don’t like. And to be grateful for that.”
