Former “American Idol” executive Robin Kaye and her husband, Thomas Deluca, were killed four days before authorities found their bodies inside their $4.5-million mansion earlier this week.
Police initially received a call about a burglar at the Encino property on July 10, according to a felony complaint obtained by People. When officers arrived on the scene, they did not see any signs of a struggle or forced entry, so they decided against attempting to enter the heavily fortified home.
Now, police believe the suspect, identified as 22-year-old Raymond Boodarian, might have actually been hiding inside the house at the time of the response.

Officers returned to the residence to carry out a welfare check on Monday around 2:30 p.m. That’s when they found Kaye, a long-time music supervisor for “American Idol,” dead in the pantry, and Deluca in the bathroom. They had both suffered multiple gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities suspect the couple had just returned home when they encountered Boodarian carrying out an apparent burglary attempt.
“A confrontation ensued, which resulted in the suspect taking their lives,” the LAPD confirmed.
It’s unclear what time the couple died or whether they were still alive when authorities initially arrived to check out the home last Thursday.
Boodarian, who has a lengthy criminal history, was arrested without incident on Tuesday and charged with two counts of murder, as well as one count of residential burglary with a person.
