Battlefield 6 is reverting a controversial change to Conquest, which saw the number of starting tickets reduced in an effort to make matches shorter. The change was implemented just a few days ago, but Battlefield 6 developer DICE has now issued a new statement after fans criticized the adjustment. While the studio was attempting to balance the overall pacing and flow of matches, fans made it clear that the change was unnecessary.

The launch of Battlefield 6 has been a huge success for publisher EA and developer DICE, but the latest entry in the series hasn’t been without its issues. Overall, Battlefield 6 is receiving rave reviews from both critics and players, and as the shooter has now been in players’ hands for a full week, DICE is working tirelessly to implement as many fan-requested changes as possible. In its first week, updates have been deployed that aimed to rectify issues with hit registration, weapon bloom, and more. Unfortunately, one of the changes went down like a lead balloon with players, leading to DICE reverting the update.

Battlefield 6 Reverts Conquest Ticket Change

Earlier this week, DICE lowered the number of tickets in Battlefield 6’s Conquest game mode. The change affected all maps differently, as some only had the number of tickets reduced from 1,000 to 900, and others, such as Operation Firestorm and Mirak Valley, had theirs reduced to 700. DICE says this was in an effort to ensure matches “finish at a more natural pace,” but many fans were baffled by the decision. Now, just two days later, the studio has confirmed it will be reverting the tickets back to their original value of 1,000 across all maps. DICE says it heard the feedback from the community on the matter and will continue to monitor gameplay data to ensure the overall pace of matches feels right.

The response from fans has been extremely positive, as many have praised DICE for the change. “W, glad to see you guys listening to feedback and adjusting so quickly,” ModernWarzone said. While another said, “Glad to see DICE taking player feedback seriously.” With Battlefield 6 soaring to heights never seen before in the series’ history, DICE appears to be heavily focused on listening to player feedback and implementing the necessary changes as quickly as possible. This is also likely in an effort to ensure a smooth rollout for Battlefield 6’s Season 1 update. Although the studio is currently focused on balance adjustments, gameplay tweaks, and bug fixes, the first major content update is set for October 28, which will add a new map, mode, three new weapons, and more.

The decision to revert the controversial Conquest change comes shortly after DICE addressed XP farms and progression in Battlefield 6. The studio released a new statement on October 17, outlining its plans for an update within the next week that aims to increase the speed of player progression while also eliminating community servers designed solely to farm bots and inflate player records.
