Boss Sprite
Grants an increase to your max HP and Shields.
Dropped from defeating bosses.
King Sprite
Your pickaxe deals more damage.
The King Sprite is pretty pointless, as all it does is make it so that your pickaxe can deal more damage. Sure, this might make harvesting materials faster, but in the late game, are you really going to want a Sprite that helps destroy obstacles? Besides, you’re never going to be in a fight where it’s Pickaxe vs gun.
Dream Sprite
Grants random items at each level, exploding with legendary loot at Max level.
The Dream Sprite is pretty pointless, as it only works if you manage to level it up. Each level is like opening a chest, as it will burst with some more loot. However, acquiring level 5 resets the Dream Spite to level 1, and reaching level 5 in one game before it ends? Highly unlikely.
Fire Sprite
Creates a fiery burst when you deal enough damage to an enemy.
The Fire Sprite is actually more annoying than it seems, as damaging enemies will cause fire to burst at your location. More often than not, this is going to cause you to catch on fire before your enemy does, which can lead to your own elimination.
Earth Sprite
Provides a higher chance of finding rare items when opening chests.
The Earth Sprite is fairly decent for the early-game setup period, as who doesn’t like the chance of finding rarer items when looting chests? With the Earth Sprite, you might just find the weapon rarity that could give you the damage boost you need, but in the late game, it’s basically pointless.
Water Sprite
Replenishes shields while you’re in water.
The Water Sprite isn’t too great, as you should always be carrying Shields in your loadout for when you need them, so there’s not much point to this one unless you really intend to linger around water areas for some reason.
Burnt Peanut Sprite
Goop! When eliminating players, you may find more loot. Sometimes mythic!
The Burnt Peanut Sprite will increase your chances of finding more loot when you defeat enemies, but that loot isn’t really going to be useful in the mid-to-late game, especially when you should already have decent gear if you’re managing to get eliminations. Reaching Level 5 isn’t that worth it either, as you only have a 10% chance to find Mythic loot.
Batman Sprite
Grants the ability to launch in the air and deploy the Bat Cape!
While the Batman Sprite certainly looks the coolest, the ability is a tad mediocre. The Batman Sprite will make it so that instead of using a Glider Redeploy, you will launch a tad higher in the air and deploy the Bat Cape, which is basically a reskinned Glider. It’s slow, and likely to make you an easy flying target to shoot at.
Aura Sprite
Gain a Shock Rock charge when you deal enough damage to enemies!
When you damage enemies, you can gain a Shock Rock charge, which is used when you press the jump button twice. However, Shock Rock charges aren’t great for movement or even escaping fights, as you are just propelled slightly in the air to make you an airborne target for those still trying to shoot you.
Seven Sprite
Enemy player foot trails are visible in the world for your Squad.
Visual audio is great for finding nearby teams that are shooting (or not crouching), but the Seven Sprite makes locating teams even easier, since you will be able to see footprint trails on the ground. These footprints only last for 10 seconds (30 at Level 5), but they are rather effective at tracking enemies that have escaped your wrath, or enemies that have just entered a building to try and hide or ambush you.
Punk Sprite
Randomized chance for infinite ammo, additional loot, or shields. (Possibly nothing… or infinitely something)
The Punk Sprite is the most cryptic, but all it does is provide you with a randomized effect. This effect is pretty rare, but it’s nice when it does decide to kick in, as you can be rewarded with infinite ammo, replenished shields, or even some loot. However, the effects are too random, rare, and unreliable.
Duck Sprite
Emoting or Jamming replenishes shields.
Emotes and Jam Tracks have a use outside of feeling cool and fun to use! With the Duck Sprite, you can regain lost shields just by using an Emote. This could be more useful than you’d think, as after a gunfight, you might be missing a sliver of Shield. However, hiding from enemies when low on Shields and emoting near them is just going to draw them to you.
Fishy Sprite
Swim speed greatly increased. Taking damage also briefly increases movement speed.
Another easy Sprite to catch is the Fishy Sprite, and with it, you will have an increase in your swim speed and (if you take damage) movement speed. At Level 5, that’s a 200% increase to swim speed and a 50% increase to movement speed! If you’re in trouble and need a quick escape, swim away as your life depends on it, or enjoy the benefits of movement speed and rush towards your opponents faster than they can blink.
Grim Sprite
Players who attack you are marked for a duration.
Sometimes, an enemy can get the drop on you, and even after multiple shots, you still don’t know where the danger lies. The Grim Sprite will mark your attacker and ensure they stay highlighted so you know exactly where they are (for 3 seconds). It’s decent enough, but once you get shot, you’re either eliminated, or you know where the shots are coming from thanks to visual audio.
Striker Sprite
Gain the Overdrive effect when you Mantle, Hurdle, or Wall Scramble.
When you Mantle, Hurdle, or Wall Scramble, you’re going to get Overdrive. This will give you six seconds where you have a faster weapon fire rate, reload speed, interactions, movement speed, and weapon swap speed, and that’s all from performing a quick action like Mantle or Wall Scramble!
Pollo Sprite
Upon earning an elimination, slowly replenish shield for you and nearby squad members for a duration.
The Pollo Sprite is essentially a team-based Demon Sprite, but only for Shields. When you get an elimination, you will slowly replenish your shields for you and your nearby allies, much like a Chug Splash. If you’ve just gotten an elimination, it’s likely that you need more shields after the fight, so why not group up and enjoy the Pollo Sprite?
Zero Point Sprite
Spawns a Shield bubble Jr. when you use a healing item on yourself.
While it might be rare, the Zero Point Sprite is definitely involved in the meta. The Zero Point Sprite is the best Sprite in Fortnite (in my opinion), and the reason I say that is because you can pause a fight just by healing, as you’ll have a shield to protect you while you med-up and wait for your enemies to get close so you can shotgun blast them.
Ghost Sprite
Grants an invisibility cloak for a duration upon reloading.
The Ghost Sprite is very useful in combat, especially from medium and long distances. Every time you reload, you will temporarily be made invisible. This can be used to mask yourself from enemies so they don’t know when and where the next shot is coming from.
Air Sprite
Increases sprinting speed and jump height.
The Air Sprite, despite being classed as “Rare”, is one of the more valuable Sprites released. With teh Air Sprite, you won’t have to worry about fall damage at all, and your sprinting speed is greatly increased, allowing your movement to feel freer and faster than other players. Plus, the increase to jump height really helps reach harder areas when you’re in Zero Build.
Vini Jr. Sprite
Sprinting for a short time makes your slide destructive. Slidekicking enemies increases the rate of fire and reload speed.
Sprinting is going to cause a few useful effects, especially at Level 5. When you reach Level 5, your sprint activates an explosive slide that deals 60 damage per hit! However, the best part comes from the 50% fire rate increase, which is going to turn your weapons into the ultimate DPS guns that no other player can compete with, and all you need to do is sprint!
Demon Sprite
Siphon some health and shields when you eliminate an opponent.
The Demon Sprite rewards aggressive gameplay and is perfect for those who love to go in for the kill. Being able to regain health and shields with each elimination means that you can rely on finishing your opponents and sending them to the lobby instead of hiding to heal.
Boss Sprite
Grants an increase to your max HP and Shield.
The Boss Sprite is a literal lifesaver, as it adds an increase to your Health and Shields. Whereas most players will have 100 HP and Shield, a Level 5 Boss Sprite will give you 125 HP and 125 Shield, which gives you more than enough health to withstand an opponent’s lethal shots.
More Sprites are likely to be added in future updates, so the rankings of this list might change, including the John Wick Sprite and Spider-Man Sprite (when it’s released).
