Summary
Void weapons in Episode Heresy are strengthened by artifact perks, subclass interactions, making them a top choice for many players.
Anamnesis, Ros Arago IV, and The Recluse are among the top Void weapons, offering powerful perks and potential for various gameplay styles.
Exalted Truth, Choir Of One, and Lotus-Eater are unique Void weapons with versatile rolls for both PvE and PvP content.
Void weapons have been the talk of the town for most of Episode Heresy, helped by the various artifact perks that directly buff them. In combination with the increase in weapon perks that directly interact with the subclass 3.0 verbs for Void, many players are beginning to realize just how strong some Void weapons really are.

Destiny 2: All Dungeon Encounters in Rite of the Nine, Ranked by Difficulty
Rite of the Nine features 3 dungeons, and each encounter will have players face a true challenge in Destiny 2 that might be cause for concern.
This topic looks at twelve Void weapons that are the best of the bunch, comparing and ranking them in order of their comparative power potential. While some may fall off once the episode ends, all of them have several factors to them that make them well worth picking up for any player, and will serve all Guardians well going into the future of Destiny 2.
12
Anamnesis
Legendary Lightweight Bow
Best PvE Roll: Repulsor Brace or Dragonfly and Destabilizing Rounds or Demoralize
Best PvP Roll: Hip-Fire Grip and Impulse Amplifier
Anamnesis was the first Void bow introduced into the game in quite some time, arriving with Episode Heresy. With the ability to roll Repulsor Brace and Destabilizing Rounds, this weapon can fit right into any standard Void build, utilizing Void overshields and volatile rounds to spread Void explosions after each kill.
Anamnesis can also roll with Dragonfly and Demoralize, which also work into the role, creating Void explosions and weakening surrounding enemies. If a player gets lucky, they can obtain a “holofoil” roll, which comes pre-masterworked and with multiple perk options. It can also be obtained as an Adept weapon, increasing its potential power even further.
11
Ros Arago IV
Legendary Adaptive Auto Rifle
Best PvE Roll: Repulsor Brace and Onslaught
Best PvP Roll: Dynamic Sway Reduction and Onslaught
Ros Arago IV was one of the first Void weapons to show Guardians the power of the Repulsor Brace perk, as well as having the incredibly powerful perk Onslaught. While it was once a must-have, Ros Arago has been overshadowed by several weapons, mainly due to its inability to self-activate Repulsor Brace.
Despite this, it is still a decent weapon for most of the content in the game, only falling off late into the endgame. If utilized in a focused Void build, able to activate Volatile Rounds with its subclass, or Void debuff enemies in other ways, Ros Arago IV is still a very powerful gun that can pack quite a punch.
10
The Recluse
Legendary Lightweight SMG
Best PvE Roll: Repulsor Brace or Subsistence and Destabilizing Rounds or Master Of Arms
Best PvP Roll: Threat Detector or Dynamic Sway Reduction and Tap The Trigger or Desperate Measures
The Recluse once ruled the crucible, tearing through Guardians with ferocious power. After its sunsetting, it maintained a legacy of terrifying efficiency, which many found lacking in its eventual return. Similar to Anamnesis, The Recluse can be obtained as a “holofoil,” rolling with multiple perk options, as well as having a unique skin applied to the gun model.

Here are some of the best guns you can use when fighting the enemies of humanity in Destiny 2.
For a standard Void loadout roll, Repulsor Brace and Destabilizing Rounds are available to similar effect as Anamnesis, with the added bonus of a faster-paced gameplay loop. Subsistence and Master of Arms is a roll that allows this SMG to tear through lower-end content, killing enemies with ease and refilling the magazine constantly.
9
Edge Transit
Legendary Adaptive Frame Grenade Launcher
Best PvE Roll: Cascade Point or Envious Assassin and Bait And Switch or Explosive Light
Best PvP Roll: Impulse Amplifier or Chain Reaction and Destabilizing Rounds
Edge Transit is an infamous meme to Destiny veterans, being an over-abundant drop back in Season 3. With its return with Into The Light, however, Edge Transit became an instant must-have for all players, with the opportunity to activate Envious Assassin to overflow the magazine before swapping to Cascade Point to unload that huge magazine in record time.
While that old roll is now patched to no longer work, both perks coupled with Bait and Switch or Explosive Light make for a powerful DPS grenade launcher option. Grenade launchers aren’t the current favored DPS choice, with linear fusion rifles taking the crown. However, if they do make a comeback, Edge Transit will no doubt be glued to many Guardians’ inventories.
8
Exalted Truth
Legendary Adaptive Hand Cannon
Best PvE Roll: Withering Gaze or Destabilizing Rounds and Repulsor Brace or Demoralize
Best PvP Roll: Slideshot or Lone Wolf and Opening Shot or Magnificent Howl
Exalted Truth is a unique entry on this list, being just as good in PvP as it is in PvE. With the opportunity to roll all four of the main Void subclass verb perks (Withering Gaze, Destabilizing Rounds, Repulsor Brace, and Demoralize), Exalted Truth is a potential PvE powerhouse, able to easily stun champions, weaken enemies, and shield the player.
In PvP, Exalted Truth can roll with Slideshot or Lone Wolf and Opening Shot, all three perks which increase its duelling potential, making it a hyper-accurate and high-ranged killing machine. Opening Shot can be swapped out for Magnificent Howl, which makes it feel a little worse to increase its kill chaining potential.
7
Choir Of One
Exotic Special Ammo Auto Rifle
Craftable Exotic Weapon
Exotic Catalysts: Subsistence, Destabilizing Rounds, Onslaught
For some time, Choir of One was a meta-defining PvE option, thanks to its powerful shots, useful catalysts, and incredible ammo economy. Since then, the ammo capacity for the weapon has been reduced, making it a slightly worse choice. Despite this, Choir of One is still a very powerful weapon, and one of the few that straddle the line between primary and special ammo weapons.

Rite of the Nine provides Destiny 2 players a chance to get some revamped dungeon weapons with interesting perk combinations.
With the catalysts Subsistence, Destabilizing Rounds, and Onslaught, Choir of One can be customized to fit into almost any loadout. However, Destabilizing Rounds is what makes this weapon worth taking as a specific Void damage gun. Onslaught does increase the damage output, and Subsistence helps with the ammo economy, yet Destabilizing Rounds gives this weapon the ability to clear rooms in an instant.
6
Elsie’s Rifle
Legendary High-Impact Pulse Rifle
Best PvE Roll: Repulsor Brace and Destabilizing Rounds
Best PvP Roll: Keep Away or Zen Moment and Kill Clip or Headseeker
Elsie’s Rifle is akin to Exalted Truth in its unified power across PvE and PvP. Unlike many of the other weapons on this list, Elsie’s Rifle is almost entirely useful as a Void loudout filler, with the roll of Repulsor Brace and Destabilizing Rounds being its most powerful in PvE. Unlike Exalted Truth and The Recluse, however, Elsie’s Rifle can utilize these at a much greater distance, making it a much safer option for endgame content.
In PvP, Keep Away, Zen Moment, Kill Clip, and Headseeker are all fantastic options for this weapon, making it an intensely powerful long-range dueling weapon, with Kill Clip giving it some great kill chaining potential. While it may be overshadowed by hand cannons in mid-range fights, Elsie’s Rifle is a safe choice for any Guardian who is more comfortable at longer ranges.
5
Buried Bloodline
Exotic Rocket-Assisted Sidearm
Available From The Warlord’s Ruin Dungeon
Exotic Catalyst: While Devour Is Active, Shots Weaken Enemies On Hit
Buried Bloodline was the progenitor for the rocket-assisted sidearm family, which has taken the Destiny community by storm. The weapon fires two tracking bolts that leech health from enemies on hit, eventually granting Devour after several kills. This alone makes this weapon incredibly powerful, allowing the player to constantly refresh their HP if they continuously get kills.
When the catalyst is unlocked, Buried Bloodline gains the ability to weaken enemies on hit while the Devour buff is active, allowing it to tear through higher-end enemies with ease. There are very few pieces of content that the Buried Bloodline cannot thrive in, being held back only by its poor ammo economy.
4
Doomed Petitioner
Legendary Adaptive Burst Linear Fusion Rifle
Best PvE Roll: Reconstruction and Precision Instrument or Surrounded
Best PvP Roll: Keep Away or Threat Detector and Moving Target
Doomed Petitioner is by far the most powerful Void linear fusion rifle in the game currently, due in part to the three-round burst adaptive burst frame it has. Doomed Petitioner can roll Reconstruction, providing the gun with a huge magazine, and Precision Instrument, rewarding accurate Guardians with a great damage buff if they can consistently hit precision hits.
Alternatively, a player can use Surrounded for a damage buff, however, this is much harder to activate in situations in which a linear fusion rifle would be recommended. Requiring several enemies to be nearby, this perk does give the best possible damage bonus, but it needs much more specific circumstances to activate.
3
Le Monarque
Exotic Bow
Available From The Monument To Lost Light In The Tower
Exotic Catalyst: Unrelenting
Le Monarque has been an annoyance in crucible for many years, having Snapshot Sights built in and a damage over time effect if drawn and shot correctly. This makes this incredibly difficult to deal with, able to chunk Guardian health and keep them low for a quick clean-up.

Where Le Monarque has seen a drastic rise in use in PvE, however, is with the various episodic artifact perks that are geared toward Void damage weapons. With the innate ability to stun Overload Champions and the chance to heal the player on multikills, paired with the episodic perks that give this weapon Volatile Rounds, Le Monarque has become a must-use in Grandmaster Nightfalls for almost any situation.
