The body of an approximately 50-year-old woman was found washed onto the shore of a Queens park Sunday morning, with a Chanel handbag still looped around her shoulder, police and witnesses said.

Cops responding to a 911 call around 10:30 a.m. found the woman unconscious and unresponsive on the shoreline near the boat launch ramp of Hermon A. MacNeil Park by College Place and 5th Ave. in College Point, police said.

EMS responded, declaring the woman dead at the scene. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is conducting an investigation to determine cause of death.

“I was down here taking a walk. I was looking for rocks and stuff at low tide, and I noticed in the weeds two sneakers, the bottoms of the sneakers sticking up, and went over,” said Mike Jasinski, 56, who discovered the body.

“I thought it was a mannequin. And then when I walked over, I saw it was a woman,” he added. “It’s horrible.”

In 2024, the body of a 60-year-old woman was discovered floating near shoreline of the East River by Herman A. MacNeil Park near the corner of 115th St. and Poppenhusen Ave., close to where the body was found on Sunday.

The woman lived in Flushing, police said. Cops did not believe she was the victim of foul play.
