A Brooklyn fast food worker was shot to death on the job early Sunday and a second man was left wounded, officials said.
The 44-year-old worker was shot in the head and a 39-year-old man was blasted in the right leg inside American Best Wings & Pizza in Brownsville moments after midnight, cops said.
Medics rushed both victims from the restaurant on on Rockaway Ave. near Newport St. to Brookdale University Hospital just a few blocks away, where the older man later died. His name was not immediately released.
The younger victim is in stable condition. The victim who died was a worker at the restaurant, according to multiple local reports.
There were no immediate arrests.
The slaying comes on the heels of a violent week in Brooklyn.
About 9:55 p.m. Friday, a 27-year-old man shot to death outside NYCHA’s Pink Houses in East New York in what cops are investigating as a possible road rage clash when he was murdered, his family told an Indian news outlet.
Gurdeep Singh was delivering pizza when he was shot seven times in the chest and torso during a confrontation on Crescent St. near Stanley Ave., cops said. His killer drove off and has not been caught.
And about 8:20 p.m. Wednesday, 17-year-old Ahmir Jordan was fatally shot in the head at Hakim’s in East New York about a mile-and-a-half from where Singh was killed. On Saturday, the NYPD released surveillance footage of two suspects they are hunting for but no arrests have been made.
Earlier in the summer, local officials were celebrating making it through most of July with no murders in Brooklyn.
For 29 days, there was no one murdered in Brooklyn, the longest such stretch on record.
Were it not for homicides on July 1 and July 2, Brooklyn would have gone the whole month without a murder, officials said. The historic streak ended Aug. 1 when a woman was found dead in a suspected domestic incident.
