Bend Studios has revealed the many accessibility features coming to Days Gone Remastered when it releases for PlayStation 5 on April 25. Taking cues from the original 2019 release, Days Gone Remastered will feature countless graphical improvements, new game modes, and a slew of customizable options to make the title more welcoming to players.
Following a leak in late 2024, Days Gone Remastered was officially announced in February 2025, with developer Bend Studios confirming further enhancements for those on the PS5 Pro. The original game was released for the PlayStation 4 in April 2019, and despite being a first-party title, it was met with mixed reviews at launch, with many criticizing the action-adventure title’s numerous bugs and mission design. A sequel was eventually pitched to Sony, though this attempt was unsuccessful. Instead, players will soon be able to return to post-apocalyptic Oregon in a whole new way, with Days Gone Remastered bringing with it tons of new options for every type of gamer.

Days Gone Remastered Could Use One Gameplay Improvement Among its New Content
Days Gone Remastered is promising extra in-game content, and one essential gameplay mechanic deserves to be kicked up a notch.
In a new PlayStation Blog post, Kevin McAllister, the Creative & Product Lead at Bend Studio, digs deeper into the many accessibility options that will be available in Days Gone Remastered. In terms of visuals, players will be able to select from 11 different subtitle colors, and a fully customizable High Contrast Mode will increase visibility throughout the title. The game’s audio has been fully revised and improved, with Days Gone Remastered introducing UI Narration and Collectible Audio Cues, with the latter helping to track down hard-to-find collectibles scattered throughout the world. These cues will also come through the DualSense controller’s speaker. Controls will be fully customizable, and gameplay can be slowed down or sped up depending on the player’s preference. Some of these accessibility features will also be making their way to Days Gone on PC.
Days Gone Remastered Will Be More Accessible and Customizable
Earlier this month, McAllister also commented on how Days Gone Remastered will look on the PS5, stating that the improvements are “noticeable.” Improved shadow quality, increased lighting, enhanced fog depth, and larger hordes will make for an entirely fresh experience, along with the addition of new game modes. Notably, the Horde Assault mode will feature up to 800 enemies in one group.
PC players shouldn’t feel left out, as the Days Gone Broken Road DLC will be launched on Steam on April 25. This content will serve as the PC equivalent to the PS5 remaster, bringing DualSense controller support, an enhanced photo mode, and both Permadeath and Horde Assault modes.
