A 7-year-old Labradoodle named Honey was shot and wounded while on a walk with her owner in Brooklyn, police said Friday.

Honey, hit in the shoulder, was taken to an area animal clinic where she was treated and is expected to recover.

It was not immediately clear if the gunman was aiming for the dog, her 62-year-old owner or someone else, police said.

The gunman opened fire around 5:46 p.m. early Wednesday evening as the pup and her owner walked down 31st St. near Fifth Ave. in Greenwood Heights.

A witness said he was walking his kids home from daycare when he heard “a big bang.”

“There was a dog crying aggressively. I heard a woman scream,” said the man, who asked to remain anonymous. “It was a really nice older lady who had just said hi to us a minute before it happened. It was a cute curly-haired dog.”

“There was blood that looked like smushed berries by the planter. After the loud bang, there was a guy running toward us,” the witness added. “I thought it was strange, but I didn’t know what happened.”

The gunman ran off. No arrests were made.

The dog was rushed to VERG Brooklyn, a 24-hour animal hospital 2 miles away, where the animal was treated and discharged, a staffer said.

NYPD fliers posted near the scene advertised a $3,500 reward for any information that leads to the suspect’s arrest.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
