Helldivers 2 Terminal Puzzle Solution (Automaton Symbols)

When facing the Automatons, Helldivers might be required to hack into their terminal security by deciphering their own anti-democracy encoded language. Helldivers 2 features a new side objective for Automatons, called Compromise Automaton Defenses. In this side objective, players must bypass terminal security with a rather puzzling code that might make most Helldivers wish to call in a Hellbomb.

Thankfully, you won’t need any Hellbombs to solve this puzzle. Below, we’ve outlined how to solve the Helldivers 2 terminal puzzle that might have you stumped on your first try, so that every time you come across it, you’ll be solving it with ease without another player (or Automaton) breathing down your neck to hurry up.

How to Solve the Terminal Puzzle in Helldivers 2

To solve the Automaton puzzle, you need to make sure that each row and column on the left matches the image on the right. You can control each column one at a time, noted by how it is highlighted in red. By using the Up and Down arrows on the D-Pad, you can shift what symbol appears on each row, and use the Left and Right arrows to switch between columns. The goal is to ignore the blank spaces and focus only on what exact symbol is in what row and column.

For instance, in the example shown above, the top row had a symbol in the second column, so we made sure that the rows and columns we have access to (on the left of the screen) matched, and so forth for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th rows, until all symbols were matched and highlighted red, thus allowing us to bypass terminal security in Helldivers 2.
