The boss fight against Yellow and Blue in Deltarune Chapter 5 is a pretty unique one. While a lot of the bosses you come across want to defeat you, this duo just wants to learn the truth and let justice have its day. That means that the whole boss battle is more like a trial, where the evidence you collected earlier on finally comes into play. If you’re struggling to beat Yellow and Blue in Deltarune Chapter 5, I’ll explain everything you need to know to beat them here.

How to Beat Yellow and Blue in Deltarune Chapter 5
While it’s always possible to attack Yellow and Blue if you just want to take them on in a proper battle, those looking to complete a pacifist run and spare them their lives will need to listen to the crime that Yellow describes, accuse the right character, and select the correct piece of evidence to back it up.
To begin a trial, however, you need to have 40% TP to use the ‘Justice’ ACT. This will then cause Yellow to describe the crime.
If you’re struggling to get enough TP, use the HelpOut ACTs with Susie and Ralsei to quickly rack it up.
I’ve listed each trial, the character you need to accuse, and the evidence that backs up your accusation below:
Case: A Floradinn was crushed flat.
Culprit: Seth
Evidence: PerpBook
Case: Yellow’s favorite shirt was vandalized and turned jet black!
Culprit: Green
Evidence: YellowShred
Case: Green’s handkerchief was stolen!
Culprit: Aqua
Evidence: RedSplatter
Case: Yellow’s super secret special petals have gone missing!
Culprit: Blue
Evidence: BlueString
Depending on how much evidence you’ve collected up until this point, you may reach a point where you can’t use the ‘Justice’ ACT due to a feeling that you don’t have enough evidence. If this happens, use the ‘Evidence’ ACT with Blue. It costs 20% TP to use, but they’ll give you the evidence you’ve missed so you can carry on with the boss fight. For me, this happened after the first two trials, but I had a lot more evidence that just wasn’t used.
After you’ve completed the fourth case that reveals Blue was the culprit, you’ll be treated to a cutscene and the boss fight will end. Below, I’ve explained how to dodge the bosses’ attacks in case you’re struggling to survive their onslaught.
This boss battle is more focused on the trials and making the correct decisions than on a difficult combat/evasion segment. If any of your characters die, you can use the ‘Integrity’ act from Blue to revive all downed players at the cost of your TP.
Between each trial and turn you take building up TP, you’ll need to evade some of their attacks. Their main attack is a blue-dotted line that turns into a flower and fires out bullet petals. Several of those can be in the container at any given time, so you need to be weaving between the bullets to successfully avoid them constantly.
Another attack sees flowers appear on the screen before they’re shot, and the petals become more obstacles. This is similar to the previous attack, just a slightly different presentation. The tactic of avoiding it remains the same.
The third attack they’ll do sees music notes appear on the screen that you need to avoid, while the same flowers and petals shoot across the screen. You need to move between the wavy lines of music, while also watching out for the petals from the flowers that rain down from the top and bottom.
Their final attack sees little ballerinas move across the bottom of the container and occasionally jump up. You’ll need to move your heart to either side to avoid the jumps. You’ll quickly notice the pattern that every other ballerina jumps, so keep your heart between two as they move across the screen and quickly move it over the other one as you see one begin to jump.
Again, don’t worry too much about taking damage. If you find yourself in a real pinch, you can always use the Integrity ACT to revive any downed characters, and Ralsei’s heal spell to top up health. It might just take you a bit longer to finish the battle.
