There’s no shortage of quest adventures to embark on in Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma that can lead to some unexpected rewards. While the extensive main story certainly keeps players plenty busy, there are still a number of special side quests that you don’t want to miss out on.
One such quest in Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma is Yoichi’s Target Practice, which has you flex your archery skills against targets cleverly hidden all over Azuma. Here’s where to find every target location for the quest, if you’re struggling to find some of them.

10 Beginner Tips For Rune Factory: Guardians Of Azuma
Any players just starting Marvelous Inc.’s life-sim RPG Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma should look to these beginner tips to help them progress.
Who is Yoichi in Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma?
Yoichi is an eccentric character that you can first encounter in the Spring Highlands just outside of Spring Village. However, rather than find him hanging out at a specific location in the area like you normally would with NPCs, to encounter Yoichi you first need to find and destroy his archery targets with your bow weapon. When you do, a cutscene will trigger where he makes a sudden and unexpected appearance before the protagonist.
While his enthusiasm for eggplants is a bit of a mystery, Yoichi will commend you on your marksmanship skills and encourage you to find the rest of his targets scattered around Azuma. This kicks off the ‘Yoichi’s Target Practice’ quest, which falls under the ‘Azuma Quests’ category, separate from the main story quests. You can track your progress with it via your ‘Quests’ tab in the pause menu.
Each time you destroy one of his targets he’ll make an appearance, but the tangible rewards for doing this quest don’t come until you successfully destroy all said targets.
All Yoichi Target Locations in Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma
Per the quest’s description, there are a total of 8 target locations that Yoichi tasks you with finding and shooting, and they’re spread across the furthest reaches of Azuma. Keeping a sharp eye out for them is key while exploring different open-world areas, as there are no hints provided about where to look for them.
To help on that front, each target’s exact location has been listed below, so make sure to check your map in these areas. Remember to use your unlocked Save Points (dragon statues) to more easily navigate towards these locations, if possible.
Target 1 – Spring Region (near Guardian’s Grove)
This target is located in the Spring Highlands area, which is accessible from Spring Village. Make your way towards Guardian’s Grove, where the Cursed Tree story boss is fought. Just around the corner from the Grove is a small outcrop you can climb up, which brings you to a narrow path along the cliff. The target will be straight ahead hanging off the left side.
Target 2 – Summer Region (Hanging Bridge)
This target is located in Summer Shores, the open-world area accessible from Summer Village. You need to make you way through the area until you reach the Hanging Bridge, which is a long wooden bring connecting two islands. The target is on an overhanging beam on the far end of the bridge, nearly impossible to miss.
Target 3 – Autumn Region
This set of three targets is found in the Autumn Fields open-world area outside Autumn Village, in an outcrop area west of the Mechanical Maze section. Be aware that you’ll need the Sacred Parasol from Winter Village in order to use its gliding ability to reach this particular area. Also, once you reach it, tread carefully as there are Level 35 enemies lurking around. The targets are hanging near the bottom of a canyon.
Target 4 – Winter Region
This target is another set of three targets that you’ll find in the Winter Wilds area outside Winter Village. Head to the far west side of the area, where the Forest section is, and you’ll find this set of targets around the corner from a dragon Save Point.
Target 5 – Island Fortress (Skies of Azuma)
This target actually consists of a group of three targets, which are found at the Island Fortress location on the Skies of Azuma world map. It’s northeast of Summer Village and southeast of Bamboo Island. After you land at Island Fortress, fight your way through the waves of Red Oni enemies until you reach the southmost point of the island, behind the ship ruins.
One of the targets is propped on a pole right on the ground at the south edge of the island. The second target is hanging horizontally off a cliff to the left of the first target. To find the third target, stand where the first one was, turn left and look up to see the last target on a pole on an elevated cliff platform.
Target 6 – Forgotten Grove
To find this group of three targets, you need to travel to the Forgotten Grove area which is located on Dawnbreak Island in the Skies of Azuma, southeast of Island Fortress. You’ll actually need to travel here as part of the main story during ‘The Astral Shrine’ quest. The targets themselves are on the right side of Forgotten Grove, but that area is initially blocked by Blight barriers and you’ll need to work your way around from the left side to get over there.
Target 7 – White Wolf Mountain
This group of targets is found in the White Wolf Mountain area, which is accessible from the Winter Wilds open-world area outside Winter Village. You’ll be tasked with exploring this area during the ‘One Last Watering Hole’ quest of the main story, so it’s a prime opportunity to knock this one out. The area around these targets is crawling with enemies, so make sure to deal with them first so you don’t get ambushed.
Target 8 – Goldblossom Mines
This group of targets is found in the Goldblossom Mines area, which is found on Abandoned Island in the southern region of the Skies of Azuma world map. You’ll be traveling here as part of the later part of the main story questline, so it’s impossible to miss this area. It’s the last one you’ll be able to access, in terms of story unlocks. The targets themselves are located in the central area of the mines, which is covered in multiple layers of purple blight that you need to work through the mines in their entirety to extinguish. So once that is resolved, all three of the targets will be accessible to shoot.
