How to Farm Bushido Armor

As of the Monument of Triumph update, the Bushido armor set in Destiny 2 can now be obtained by visiting Zavala at the Tower. To get this set, you’re going to need Vanguard Engrams, Vanguard Ciphers, and Glimmer. You can buy as many armor pieces as you want from Zavala, but getting the resources needed to purchase them will likely take a while. Still, the grind is going to be worth it, as the Bushido set is perfect when used with specific weapons in Destiny 2.

Where to Get the Bushido Armor Set in Destiny 2

Go to the Tower, speak with Zavala, and go to the second page of his offerings to find the Focused Decoding section. From there, select the Armor option, then go to the third page to find the Bushido armor set. Each piece of the Bushido set in Destiny 2 costs 1 Vanguard Engram, 3 Vanguard Ciphers, and 15k Glimmer.

Vanguard Engrams and Glimmer are easy enough to acquire. You can get both of them just by playing any activity under the Vanguard Ops playlist. Rank up your reputation with Zavala to earn Vanguard Engrams, and do not open them when you talk to him at the Tower. Just leave them there, and they’ll automatically get used up once you focus any piece of equipment from him.

Vanguard Ciphers are a little tricky to get, as the drop rates seem to be fairly low or inconsistent across the different Vanguard Ops activities. In my experience, Arena Ops tends to drop them more often compared to other activities, but you might not get the same experience. I recommend farming Arena Ops if you want to get Ciphers, but if you’ve noticed them dropping anywhere else, feel free to play other activities in the Vanguard Playlist.

Bushido Armor Set Effect

Iaido (2pc): Final blows with freshly-drawn or reloaded weapons heal you.

Unfaltering Focus (4pc): Bow, Shotgun, or Sword final blows temporarily reduce incoming damage. Damaging targets with these weapons extends the effect.

It’s worth noting that Bows in Destiny 2 always count as being reloaded after firing a shot. This means that as long as you can score Final Blows with your Bow hits, you’ll be constantly healing yourself with the Bushido set’s 2-piece bonus. You can get the same effect using Shotguns too, since you can always just reload a single shell after scoring a Final Blow to trigger the set effect.

The Bushido set also works very well with the Praxic Blade in Destiny 2, as the 4-piece bonus can help keep you alive for longer, especially during times when your lightsaber is flying out towards enemies.

Admittedly, there are better armor set bonuses in Destiny 2, but if you like the Bushido set’s aesthetic, and you like using Bows, Shotguns, and Swords, this might still be worth using. Just make sure to pair it with the right Armor Mods, Exotics, and Artifact Perks, and you’ll be good to go.
