How to Open the Emergency Exit Door (Rec Room) in RE9

After the introductory cutscene in Resident Evil Requiem, players will be able to play as Grace and get a feel for the game. By default, Grace’s gameplay is set to first-person to create a scarier vibe. You can change this in the settings if you prefer a more open gameplay view.

During the first gameplay sequence, players will make their way inside the Wrenwood Hotel, where Grace needs to analyze the latest victim of the infection the FBI is investigating. As players head up to the second floor, they will find a locked emergency exit door. How to Open the Emergency Exit Door (Rec Room) in Resident Evil Requiem

After interacting with the Emergency Exit door in the Rec Room upstairs, you will realize that you have no items in your inventory that can unlock it. For now, you will have to progress through the main story. Next to the Emergency Exit is another locked room, but this one has wires around the handle.

Turn around to spot a box with the Wire Cutters lying on the pool table. Grab them, unlock the door, and make your way to Room 204. Ignore everything else in the room and interact with the numerous photos spread out on the bed. One of them should trigger a flashback cutscene where Grace is in the same hotel room with her mom.

Play through this section and, when it’s over, your objective will change. You will need to head down to the Lobby, move the cart next to the painting, and interact with it to find some files.

As soon as you back out, a cutscene will play featuring the policeman from outside. During the scuffle, a key will drop to the floor, and Grace will automatically pick it up. With the key in your possession, head upstairs, running away from the zombie, and open the Emergency Exit door to start the next section of the game.
