Madden NFL 26 Release Date Revealed

Madden NFL 26 has received its official release date and will be arriving on August 14, 2025. The next installment in the Madden NFL franchise will also be available in a bundle with EA Sports College Football 26, which was also just announced, and pre-orders for the bundle package will only be available for a limited time.

The historic pro football franchise has been around since 1988, when its first game, John Madden Football, was only available on PC. The series released its second game in 1992 on the Sega Genesis and hasn’t gone a year without a new mainline title since, spanning six console generations. Its momentum certainly isn’t slowing down, as Madden NFL 25 sold more than a million units in its first week and was among the best-selling games on Xbox in 2024.

Following a leak of Madden NFL 26’s release date earlier this week, EA has now confirmed the rumors about its August 14 release date. The official website for the game has now confirmed that date for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. Pre-orders for the standalone NFL game are already available, with the Standard Edition costing $69.99 and the Deluxe Edition, which includes an early access period that starts on July 7, costing $99.99.

Madden NFL 25 Gets its Release Date

Along with purchasing the game solo, EA again gives buyers the ability to bundle the pro football game with EA Sports College Football 26, which is set for release on July 10. The release of EA Sports College Football 25 last year after a 12-year gap between collegiate football video games provided EA with a golden opportunity to bundle it together with Madden, and that deal is once again available for console players this year, with the EA Sports MVP Bundle currently available for pre-order for $149.99 on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. Fans wanting to bundle both games together should act quickly, as pre-orders are only available through April 29.

As of now, it looks as though the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch will be left out of this year’s release schedule, making this the first time the series has failed to show up on Microsoft and Sony’s last-generation consoles since their launch. The original Switch will again be left out, but after the announcement that Nintendo Switch 2’s third-party game catalog would include Madden NFL 25, many fans had already begun anticipating the release of the upcoming football game on that platform as well.
