Capcom reveals all the details for Monster Hunbter Wilds final major update, including challenging new hunts, special rewards, limited-time event quests, and a big anniversary celebration. Unfortunately for Capcom, Monster Hunter Wilds never managed to hit the same highs that captured the attention of fans with Monster Hunter World. While the game still sold well, despite missing its sales expectations, it often struggled with technical issues, especially for PC players.

However, Capcom continued to work on the game, addressing player frustrations and adding new content, especially for those looking for more challenging hunts. Nearly one year after its launch, Capcom is winding down its update cycle and while it may have taken longer than what many would have hoped, it appears that Monster Hunter Wilds is also fixing its biggest remaining issue with the upcoming patch.

Monster Hunter Wilds February 2026 Update Details

Release Date: February 18, 2026

Monster Hunter Wilds Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto appeared in a new video from Capcom to discuss the team’s plans for the upcoming major update. Set to arrive on February 18, this final major update is packing a lot for players, including a new battle against an Arch-tempered version of Arkveld, the cover creature for Monster Hunter Wilds. The fight requires players to be at Hunter Rank 100 or higher, as Arkveld is a 10-star fight. Naturally, players will be able to craft unique armor sets, including feylne armor, once the proper amount of materials have been collected.

Alongside Arkveld, Capcom is also bringing back all four previous Monster Hunter Wilds Arch-tempered fights in new 10-star quests. Players who are able to overcome these challenging fights will be rewarded with Timeworn Charms and have a high chance at earning rare talismans. During this time, an optional quest called Proof of a Hero will also be active, requiring the hunting party to slay all four monsters in 50 minutes or less.

This update also adds the winning Weapon and Pendant Designs submitted by players. This includes Nolan Lu’s Shatterseal greatsword, which looks like a shattered mirror, and ikei’s SOS Meating Pendant, designed to look like a stuffed piece of meat being held up by 3 feylnes. Players can earn these items in a new event quest. Support Hunter Nadia will also have a special cooperative mission where players will need to fight what appears to be colorful blob-style creatures.

The upcoming Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is also going to be part of a special collaboration with Wilds through a special side mission. Players will be helping the Royal Palico named Rudy to rescue eggs while out in the world. Players can earn unique rewards like a Rudy costume for their Palico as well as “Monstie-themed pendants.”

Interestingly enough, Ryozo Tsujimoto also revealed that Capcom looked through player data to determine that Monster Hunter Wilds’ Rompopolo is the least hunted creature in the game. As such, the development team prepared a limited-time quest to hunt a special version of it, which offers players an assortment of new and interesting rewards. There’s another limited-time event kicking off at the end of February, with Tsujimoto teasing “dazzling” Gala suits and Felyne Star armor sets.

The update is also celebrating the first anniversary of Monster Hunter Wilds original release date. Over the course of one month after the update arrives, players can take part in a special in-game event including a free Hunter Appreciation item pack. All previous seasonal events will be on a weekly rotating schedule, allowing players to once again take part and earn the various rewards associated with them. Monster Hunter Wilds’ Grand Hub will also change based on the active event, including limited-time food options as well.

In addition to the February update, Tsujimoto also confirmed a new expansion is currently in development for Monster Hunter Wilds and Capcom is planning for a full reveal sometime over the summer. It stands to reason that the reveal could follow previous Monster Hunter announcements at Summer Games Fest, with a big trailer likely coming during Geoff Keighley’s showcase. Tsujimoto was light on details but did refer to it as a “large-scale expansion” and was likely the size of Iceborne and Sunbreak for previous games in the series. Either way, fans should expect to see more in a few months.
