This article contains spoilers from the Boruto manga.
The year 2025 is coming to an end, but the Boruto anime hasn’t released any new episodes, leaving fans wondering if the series has quietly been put on hold for good. Fortunately, Studio Pierrot confirmed the anime’s return, assuring fans that Boruto Part 2 is in production even without a concrete release date. This reignited hope among fans eager to continue Boruto, Sarada, and Kawaki’s journey in the anime adaptation rather than the manga.
Right now, there are few to no updates about Boruto Part 2 after Studio Pierrot’s announcement. However, Naruto Uzumaki’s Japanese voice actor, Junko Takeuchi, finally breaks her silence and shares some exciting details about the Boruto Part 2 anime in a recent panel with Naruto’s English dub actress, Maile Flanagan.
Boruto Part 2 Is Now in Production According to Studio Pierrot
Boruto Part 1 Ended on Chapter 67
Boruto Part 2 is finally official.
Fans can start reading Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Chapter 68 after Boruto Part 1.
When Boruto first aired in 2017, Naruto fans were divided, and the debate continues, even after 293 episodes of filler and canon content, years later. While some fans appreciate the efforts to expand Naruto’s universe, the majority of them feel Boruto never truly lived up to the legacy of the legendary shinobi and his iconic story. Still, with Boruto Part 2 on the horizon, the stage is set for another chance at redemption.
Studio Pierrot has already confirmed that Boruto Part 2 has been greenlit, officially setting the stage for the next chapter in Boruto’s story. The final episode of Boruto Part 1 ended on a high note, with Boruto coming back from the dead after Momoshiki Otsutsuki intervened to save his life. In the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations manga, this happened in Chapter 67, leaving only a few chapters left in the source material.
In other words, fans who can’t wait for Boruto Part 2 can turn to the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations manga, specifically Chapter 68, to continue the story before the highly anticipated time skip. It is also recommended to begin reading the manga from start to finish for the full experience. Part 1 consists of only 79 chapters, making it possible to read the entire series in just a few days.
Naruto’s VA Reveals She’s Recording for Boruto Part 2 Anime
Junko Takeuchi Is Back as Naruto for Boruto Part 2
Just recently, Naruto’s long-time Japanese voice actor, Junko Takeuchi, made headlines for her recent comments about the Boruto Part 2 anime. Many fans have been dying to hear about any new updates about Boruto Uzumaki’s return to the small screen, so hearing an update from Naruto Uzumaki’s VA herself was met with excitement and renewed hope for the upcoming sequel.
According to Junko Takeuchi, she has already recorded lines for Naruto Uzumaki in Boruto: Part 2 when asked whether she had started working on the sequel, confirming that production on the anime is actively underway. In addition, she mentioned to Naruto’s English dub voice actress, Maile Flanagan, that she has a lot of work ahead of her, hinting at an extensive and possibly intense role for Naruto in Boruto Part 2.
Interestingly, manga fans know that Naruto Uzumaki is getting closer to being sealed by Kawaki in the anime. He will eventually be sidelined, leaving Boruto and a few allies on his side to deal with Kawaki, Code, Daemon, and the rest of the people affected by Eida’s omnipotence in Konoha. With Junko Takeuchi already recording Naruto’s lines, it suggests that, despite being sidelined in the plot, Naruto will still play a significant and irreplaceable role in Boruto Part 2.
Boruto Part 2 Anime Has No Exact Release Date Yet
Boruto Part 2 Could Adapt Two Blue Vortex
As of October 2025, the Boruto Part 2 anime has no exact release date yet, so fans will have to be more patient in getting the official announcement either from Studio Pierrot or Ikemoto and Kishimoto themselves. Most likely, fans will hear more details about Boruto Part 2 later this year or early next year, potentially during a major anime event where an anime studio often reveals trailers and release windows for highly anticipated series like Boruto.
This is none other than my story.—Boruto Uzumaki
In addition, it’s not yet confirmed whether Boruto Part 2 will adapt the Two Blue Vortex manga, considering the source material only has 26 chapters at the moment. For this very reason, many fans suggest making Boruto Part 2 a seasonal anime rather than a weekly anime full of fillers or anime-original content. By doing this, the studio could maintain higher animation quality while staying closer to the source material rather than stretching out unnecessary plot.
