A recent leak indicates that the 11th generation of Pokemon games may be coming in 2030. It may be a while before gamers can finally play Gen 11 Pokemon games, but fans should not worry, as the recent leaks also address Gen 10, which will obviously be available much earlier.
A major Pokemon leak has recently given fans access to some details about the franchise’s future. The most interesting announcement of the leak is that Gen 10 Pokemon games will allegedly be called Pokemon Winds and Waves, and that these titles will be set in a region based on Southeast Asia and Indonesia. They will also feature “infinity” as their main theme, and will be Switch 2 exclusives, according to the leak.
Gen 11 Pokemon Games Could Be Out in 2030
Another interesting detail of the leak was recently shared by Centro Leaks: Gen 11 Pokemon games will only come out in 2030, if Nintendo’s plans run smoothly. This is not surprising when considering the releases of previous Pokemon games. Gen 8’s Pokemon Sword and Shield were released in 2019, while Gen 9’s Scarlet and Violet were available in late 2022. Following similar development times, Gen 10 could be launched in 2026, followed by another game four years later.
Fans should not be bummed out that it may take half a decade for Gen 11 to be ready for launch, though, as Pokemon’s Gen 10 seems to be just around the corner. Some previous leaks have indicated that Pokemon Wind and Waves will be properly revealed at Pokemon Day in February 2026, with a release date for later in the same year or possibly 2027 at the latest.
Another interesting detail about Gen 10 Pokemon games is that they could feature “infinite” islands, according to these leaks. Apart from procedurally generated islands, it’s rumored that the basic Pokemon in these games will have “infinite variations” when evolving, which could lead to some major changes in the franchise. It’s not known, however, how much of the game’s world will be procedurally generated, and, obviously, these rumors may come from credible sources, but it’s always best to take them with a grain of salt.
In any case, gamers still have plenty of Pokemon games to be occupied with while they wait for Gen 10 and 11. Pokemon Legends: Z-A is set to release on October 16, feature Mega Evolutions, and be set Lumiose City in the Kalos region. Unlike the mainline games in the series, Pokemon Legends: Z-A will feature real-time battles.
