This article contains spoilers from My Hero Academia.
My Hero Academia officially wrapped up last year, with Kohei Horikoshi pulling the curtains on the story after the conclusion of the Final War arc for good. Since then, fans have been eagerly waiting for crumbs from the author about their favorite characters and the developments in their lives beyond the manga. To be fair to Kohei Horikoshi, he has done an absolutely incredible job at providing the fans with supplementary content after the end of the manga, and all this came in the form of fanbooks, art books, interviews, art exhibitions, and more.
Fans got a ton of exciting information about their favorite My Hero Academia characters, and that also includes the protagonist of the series, Izuku Midoriya. While Izuku lost the power of One For All in the Final War of My Hero Academia, he did end up gaining a Hero Armor, which allowed him to become a Hero once again. In the supplementary content of My Hero Academia, Kohei Horikoshi officially revealed the specifics of his abilities, and confirmed to the fans that he still has access to his vestige quirks, only this time, they’re replicated by his armor. In other words, all of Izuku’s main abilities are intact.
Izuku Midoriya Can Mimic All One For All Vestige Powers
Izuku Still Has Access To Old Abilities
Midoriya is the No. 4 Hero right now
Izuku could still become the Top Hero
When Izuku’s armor was first introduced, fans weren’t quite sure what to make of it. Having seen All Night’s armor in the Final War, they certainly did have an idea of how strong Izuku Midoriya would be, but then again, Horikoshi explicitly stated that technological advancements over the last couple of years meant that his armor was far stronger.
This is the story of how we all became the greatest Heroes! — Izuku Midoriya
Later on, Horikoshi officially confirmed to the fans that Izuku’s armor can copy all the vestige abilities. In other words, Izuku Midoriya can still use powers such as Black Whip, Fa Jin, Danger Sense, Float, Gearshift, and Smokescreen with the help of his Hero Armor. Here’s what Horikoshi had to say about his abilities:
Question: How does the armor that Deku received from Class A function?
Horikoshi: It tries to mimic various OFA abilities; for example, it has cable extensions that function like his ability Black Whip. It also serves as a prototype where he can try to combine various abilities.
Izuku Midoriya Might Still Be The Strongest
He’s Rising Up The Ranks Fast
Clearly, based on the fact that his Hero Suit still allows him to use all the vestige abilities, fans know for a fact that he can use the overwhelming force generated using the One For All as well. This also means that Izuku Midoriya is one of the strongest characters in the world still. It also means that Izuku Midoriya still has a shot at becoming the Strongest Hero In the world. It must be remembered that Izuku Midoriya ended up becoming the #4 hero just months after becoming a Hero again. He even ranks above Bakugo Katsuki. As such, fans should fully expect him to go up against Mirio Togata in the future and potentially become the strongest Hero.
The My Hero Academia manga concluded with 431 chapters for fans to read. All these chapters can be found on Manga Plus. When it comes to the anime, this series is still awaiting its final season, which will be released later this year. The series can be watched on Crunchyroll.
