Stocks @ Night is a daily newsletter delivered after hours, giving you a first look at tomorrow and last look at today. Sign up for free to receive it directly in your inbox. Here’s what CNBC TV’s producers were watching on Tuesday and what’s on the radar for Wednesday’s session. Record breaker A new all-time high close for the Dow Jones Industrial Average . It closed at 47,928 today. The intraday high is 48,040. The Dow is up 12.65% this year, outpaced by the NYSE Composite , up 13.7%, the S & P 500 up 16.4%, the Nasdaq and Nasdaq 100 , both up 21.5%. Caterpillar is the top performing Dow stock this year, up 57%. Nvidia is next, up 44%; followed by IBM , up 43%. At the bottom, Nike , down 17%; Salesforce , down 27%; and UnitedHealth , down 35% in 2025. The AI stocks in Cramerica: “Slow down” “Mad Money” man Jim Cramer made a bold call Tuesday night, calling the AI run into question. He cited several reasons for his big call. First up, there’s too much spending from AI companies. He thinks it’s too much, too fast. Second off, there’s a growing debt load. Once these companies start taking on a lot of debt to build, they become more vulnerable to a downturn and that means risk. Third, New Jersey-based AI infrastructure company CoreWeave cut its outlook . Cramer also brought up OpenAI CFO Sarah Friar’s comments last week, where she supported government backstops for data center build-outs and other AI infrastructure, before she said her comments were “muddled.” AMD shares are now 11% from an Oct. 29 high. Nvidia is 9% from its Oct. 29 high. Broadcom is 9% from its Oct. 29 high. Intel is 11% from its Oct. 28 high. Cramer still calls it the best story of the last several years, but he’s doing some rethinking. We’ll have a lot more on the AI trade starting at 5 a.m. with Frank Holland on “Worldwide Exchange.” Don’t miss a minute of it. AMD Advanced Micro Devices CEO Lisa Su will be live on “Squawk Box” in the 8 a.m. hour with Becky Quick, Andrew Ross Sorkin and Joe Kernen. Investments in AI and details on where Su stands as one of the brightest and most successful names in the industry will be a major topic Wednesday morning. The stock took a hit on Tuesday, falling 2.7%, but it is up 10.5% in a month. In three months, AMD is up 38%, double the VanEck Semiconductor ETF (SMH) , which is up 20% in three months. Shares of AMD have almost doubled so far this year. AMD YTD mountain Advanced Micro Devices shares year to date Chevron Chevron CEO Michael Wirth joins “Squawk Box” Wednesday morning in the 7 a.m. hour. The stock is up 2% in a week and is 11% from its 52-week high in October. CVX YTD mountain Chevron shares year to date Cannabis stocks CNBC’s Brandon Gomez will report on the potential impact of new restrictions from Congress on the cannabis industry. GrowGeneration is 2% from its December high and is up 21% in a week. Tilray Brands is 2% from its October high but the stock is just a $1.29 a share. Trulieve is 30% from its August high, and is up 5% in a week.
