In Fantasy Life i: The Girld Who Steals Time, there are four combat classes to try, and the Paladin is, by far, the most resilient of them all. But the Paladin is not only a tank but a solid dps that can cripple monsters and augment its damage output considerably by timing parry, block, and dodge.

This Fantasy Life i guide will show you the best early-game XP farming spots to boost your Life levels faster.

This Combat Life has some solid skills to try, but players should know which are the best of the best, and which ones are best to invest early on to make the most out of this class. In this list, players will find information on the best Paladins skills they should consider mastering in Fantasy Life i.

1

Lightning Strike

The Most Powerful Skill In The Paladin’s Arsenal

Power: High

Utility: AoE counter attack

Sp Cost: Low

Lightning Strike is the crème de la crème in the Paladin’s skill tree, it has a low cost, high damage output, and its a defensive move that complements the Paladin’s defensive stance perfectly. It can be unlocked at Adept level, and it is quite simple to use: Players need to hit the attack button after a successful parry or block, and the Paladin will swirl and direct the power back with a thunderous lightning slash.

It has the highest damage output of all skills, but forces the players to remain static or close to the enemy to time the block/parry and activate the skill. It’s a little bit hard to figure out at first, but once players learn how to use it, they will never use any other skill except maybe Elemental Blade.

2

Elemental Edge

The Most Powerful Ultimate Move

Power: Very high

Utility: Causes Elemental Damage And Stuns

Sp Cost: No Cost, Uses Special Move Bar

Elemental Edge is the Second Special Attack the Paladin Unlocks (After Saintly Slash) and can be charged by causing damage or blocking with the shield. It sends a wave that acquires the elemental properties of the Sword the Paladin has equipped (much like Sonic Blade), and sends a powerful wave that stuns foes and arcs into a trident pattern.

Gathering ores is the primary progression method in a Miner’s life in Fantasy Life i; here’s where to find each type.

It causes more damage than Saintly Slash, but requires the Master Level to be unlocked, so it will take a lot of time and effort for players to be able to use this skill. Still, it is undoubtedly the second strongest skill the Paladin has, so keep that in mind and aim to unlock it as fast as possible.

3

Saintly Slash

Great For CC And Area Damage

Power: Moderate

Utility: Causes Non Elemental Damage And Stuns

Sp Cost: No Cost, Uses Special Move Bar

The first Special Move unlocked in the Paladin’s skill tree is called Saintly Slash, a similar skill to Elemental Edge, with the difference that it causes less damage, and it doesn’t take on the elemental properties of the sword the Paladin has equipped. This means that if the Paladin has a Fire Sabre equipped, the Saintly Slash skill will not cause Fire damage; Instead, it will do non-elemental damage.

Saintly Slash will be the Paladin’s killer Special Move against bosses, since its crowd control effect can interrupt and make enemies fall prone for enough time to either heal, buff, or connect tons of combos.

4

Sonic Blade

Great To Counter Ranged Enemies

Power: Moderate

Utility: Channels And Takes on Elemental Properties to unleash a ranged attack

Sp Cost: Moderate

Sonic Blade is the Charged Attack of the Paladin, a powerful move that sends an arching wave of energy flying in the direction the players aim. This move takes on the elemental properties of the blade, so if players want Sonic Blade to cause Water-type damage, they should equip the Aqua Saber.

It’s a little difficult to control, and charges slowly, though it can be improved to Sonic Blade II and III as the Paladin progresses in Ranks, making it cause even more damage and charge even faster.

5

Divine Shield

A Great Buff Skill, But Costly

Paladin using Divine Shield in Fantasy Life i

Power: Moderate

Utility: Buffs increasing defense, magic defense, and damage blocked

Sp Cost: High

This skill can be unlocked by reaching Adept level in the Paladin Life, and has two main uses: It augments the percentage of damage blocked when using the shield, and also increases both magic and physical defenses. In other words, a Buff skill that players will be using a lot, especially during boss fights.

Divine Shield has great utility as a buff skill, but two main defects make it a little bit inferior to other Paladin skills. The first one is its charging time, which can be improved as players progress the Paladin’s skill tree, but still takes some time to use, and this can be a little disadvantageous during an intense fight. On the other hand, its SP cost is terrible, making it less useful than the Perfect Dodge buff every Combat Life has.

6

Spin Strike

Players Will Use This Often, But Beware, It Has A Catch

Power: Low

Utility: AoE attack

Sp Cost: Moderate

One of the first Skills players can use from the moment they unlock the Paladin Life, is the Spin Strike, a basic combat skill that consumes SP to create an AoE spin attack that hits all enemies surrounding the players.

On the downside, its excessive SP cost can quickly deplete the Paladin’s scarce reserves, especially at lower levels. In terms of utility, it is not so great, but it will be the main source of Area Damage the Paladin has for quite a long time, at least, until players manage to unlock Lightning Strike and Sacred Blade.

7

Dash Strike

Not Too Useful, Can Barely Be Considered A Skill

Dash Strike Paladin Skill Fantasy Life i

Power: Low

Utility: Charges forward And Attack, good to initiate combat

Sp Cost: No cost

Dash Strike is another of the Paladin Skills that comes with the starter kit, and it’s one that can barely be recognized as a skill. It doesn’t provide any indications on how to use it. Nevertheless, players can use this skill if they dash and then attack an enemy.

It doesn’t have too much utility, except maybe initiating combat with a strike that does slightly more damage than a regular attack, which can be advantageous in certain situations. Still, as it’s barely a skill and cannot be improved (except by equipping more gear, which will naturally increase its damage output) it is one of the less useful skills of the Paladin.
