In earlier expansions for World of Warcraft, there was a lot of downtime between major patches. In some cases, there was nothing new to do in the game for over a year. To prevent that sort of situation from happening anymore, Blizzard now releases smaller patches more frequently with side content that helps keep players busy.
In addition to the Revisited Horrific Visions of Stormwind and Orgrimmar, there is a limited-time event called Dastardly Duos. In this activity, you get to fight against old dungeon bosses and try to get the best possible score for bragging rights. There are even a few rewards available as well.

World of Warcraft is redefining class identity and gameplay in 2025, making new class choices more accessible, flexible, and rewarding.
How to Start Dastardly Duos in World of Warcraft
As with most events in World of Warcraft, there is a central hub where you can go to find the vendor, along with any related quests. The first place is in Dornogal, at the entrance of the city.
If you prefer your faction’s capital city, there is also a hub in Orgrimmar (at the top of the front gate) and Stormwind (outside at the city entrance), respectively. Regardless of which hub you go to, you will find the same NPCs.
Xyggie Marou is the NPC you want to talk to in order to queue into Dastardly Duos.
Vinnie Sweets will offer a weekly quest for Dastardly Duos, so make sure to visit him first before doing anything else.
Finally, there is Wodin the Troll-Servant who sells food buffs and rewards that you can earn from participating in Dastardly Duos.
Dastardly Duos, Explained
Dastardly Duos is essentially a timed challenge mode. You can queue into the activity with up to five players, and any remaining slots will be filled by bots. So yes, Dastardly Duos can be run solo, similar to Delves or Follower Dungeons.
When you load into Dastardly Duos, you will start outside the arena. There will be food and drinks for you to consume before the start of the match. Each consumable gives a buff, and you can have one food and one drink buff active.
Some food items will only appear if you order them specifically from Wodin before loading into Dastardly Duos.

Once you are ready, head down to the gate to start a countdown for the match. Dastardly Duos is like a micro dungeon in that you kill a bunch of trash mobs and then fight bosses. You will fight a variety of old dungeon bosses from Vanilla WoW, The Burning Crusade, Cataclysm, and Wrath of the Lich King. Each wave consists of two randomly selected bosses, and once both bosses are down another duo will show up.
Early on in a match, you will see an interactable object known as a Cheery Bomb. These walking bombs can be moved when you interact with them, and if you kill enemies in the circle around the bomb, their bar will fill. When the bar is filled, you will get double the points while killing enemies in the circle. At this point, the bomb will no longer be able to move, so keep that in mind. As you are fighting the bosses, they will periodically drop gears that you can pick up. These gears give you more time, so make sure to pick them up.
After you’ve killed both waves, a chest will spawn along with a teleporter that will take you back to the hub for Dastardly Duos. You will also see your overall score for the match, which is determined based on how much damage you did, how long the match took, and how many deaths there were.
Over the course of this event, there will be a high score goal for each week. If you reach it each week, you will unlock an achievement. For the first week, you will need to get at least 300,000 points and by the end of the event, the high score is one million.
All Dastardly Duos Rewards
The majority of the rewards for this event are cosmetic. Wodin the Troll Servant sells some cosmetic shoulder armor that can be unlocked and purchased for 500 Resonance Crystals each. There is also a reward you can get from each weekly quest as well:
First week: Dastardly Banner (Toy)
Second week: Winner’s Podium (Toy)
Third week: Spicy Mean Ball (Battle Pet)
Fourth week: Tyrannotort’s Treat (Mount)
You also get a Dastardly Prize Purse each week that contains items useful for Dastardly Duos along with a piece of Champion gear.
