The final part of the Sly Cooper trilogy once again triumphantly blends stealth and action, with a variety of enjoyable set pieces and minigames to keep players entertained. Sly 3 tried a lot of new concepts in the series to end things on a high note, with a mixture of different characters that will test players through divided focus to harness unique skills throughout their sprawling adventure. However, despite the new aspects of different character design, things feel a tad too easy, and compared to how Sucker Punch has evolved outside of the child-friendly stealth-action/platformer genre, it’s hard to see Sly 3 beating Sucker Punch’s more mature and recent titles.
inFAMOUS Second Son
A Power Fantasy to Captivate the Potential of the PS4

Released
March 21, 2014
ESRB
T For Teen due to Blood, Drug Reference, Language, Sexual Themes, Violence
InFamous Second Son takes the series to the PlayStation 4 era, being the first Sucker Punch game on next-gen (of the time). InFamous Second Son was incredible to showcase the power and potential of the PS4, with its incredible lighting, particle effects, and gimmicky controls from the PS4’s DualSense controller. While InFamous Second Son looked next-gen and still holds up as an incredible visual game over 11 years later, there were still some issues with its design. The story and its characters were harder to invest in than the original crew, and even then, the open world of Seattle might have been large, but it felt mostly repetitive. But that doesn’t take away from the blast that this sandbox has to offer for fans who love intricate worlds and a keen power fantasy that looks as good as it feels.
Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus

A defining platformer and action game was found with Sly Cooper’s first title, providing players with both a smooth experience and a thrilling story that takes quirky characters and a creative art style to blend them together for something exciting and new. Gameplay is smooth, the levels and minigames are well designed and polished, and it’s never felt so rewarding to be a thief. Players in search of a classic or to see how Sucker Punch Productions has always had the talent should look to Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus to see how entertainment blends satisfying gameplay with incredible structure and story.

Cole McGrath takes to New Marais, a far more vibrant and cultured town, and one that becomes extremely fun to navigate through. While the bodies of water make traversal dangerous, the inner-city and the light rail system make navigation fast and fun, as does the fluidity of combat through a mixture of creative powers. InFamous 2 expands on the power fantasy of the first game with unique enemy types, an emphasis on melee combat with the AMP, and a mix of traversal options and power sets to keep the action flowing. InFamous 2 focuses on what matters about games of the PS3 era: having fun, first and foremost.
Sly 2: Band of Thieves
Variety and Fun Take the First Place Prize for This Band of Thieves

Released
September 14, 2004
ESRB
E10+ For Everyone 10+ // Alcohol Reference, Mild Fantasy Violence, Use of Tobacco
Publisher(s)
Sony Computer Entertainment

Sly 2: Band of Thieves proves how the early era of Sucker Punch Productions could be sweet, fun, and extremely stylistic. That’s not to dig out the more mature era, but to instead focus on the nostalgia and charm of the old. The PS2 era of Sucker Punch Productions gave fans a sequel to Sly Cooper’s story and adventures, which continued to harness the fun of puzzles, stealth, action, humor, and general adventure with a mixture of characters, minigames, and creative levels. While platformers of this might not be at the forefront of any gaming conversations today, Sly 2: Band of Thieves proved that it was once upon a time all the rage, and Sly 2 remains a staple of both the genre and a footnote in Sucker Punch’s incredible history.
Ghost of Yotei
An Epic and Beautiful Revenge Quest With Sharp Combat and a Plethora of Exploration

Released
October 2, 2025
ESRB
Mature 17+ / Blood and Gore, Drug Reference, Intense Violence, Language, Partial Nudity, Use of Alcohol
Publisher(s)
Sony Interactive Entertainment

Ghost of Yotei takes players to a whole new Japanese location, filled with new life and new characters to separate itself from the previous game, and it works as a treat. Taking an anthology approach, Ghost of Yotei is less about honor and the samurai code and more about cold-driven vengeance. Players are given a slightly non-linear approach this time around, where they can explore Ezo and free it from the claws of Lord Saito in any manner that they see fit. Ghost of Yotei is violent, thrilling, with so much content that it can sometimes be hard to remember that this is a revenge quest and not a beautiful trail across Ezo. There are barely any flaws in the perfected combat system that makes fighting sharp, quick, and addicting, but a somewhat predictable cinematic story makes the previous game and the motives far more compelling.
inFAMOUS
Chaotic Destruction and the Freedom to be a Hero or a Villain Cement inFAMOUS as a Masterpiece

Released
May 26, 2009
ESRB
T For Teen // Blood, Drug Reference, Language, Mild Suggestive Themes, Violence
The original Infamous title deserves a plethora of respect. While newer Infamous games have superior graphics and combat, it’s hard to say that Infamous doesn’t do things better with its creativity and, at the time, the new era of open-world gameplay. The catastrophe of Empire City’s terrorist incident brings forth immense chaos, and there are so many choices that players can make in their actions and decisions to craft their version of Cole as a hero, anti-hero, or villain. The evolving skills and powers provide the ultimate fantasy outside of mainstream DC or Marvel heroes, and Infamous did so much to feel exciting and new for 2009, with creative enemy types, unique locations, ways to travel, fight, and take on missions.
Ghost of Tsushima
Captivating Real-World History Defines Sucker Punch With Incredible Combat and an Emotional Story

Released
July 17, 2020
ESRB
M for Mature: Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Language, Partial Nudity
Ghost of Tsushima is where Sucker Punch Productions truly found their magnum opus, for a multitude of reasons. Ghost of Tsushima impresses fans with its incredible attention to detail and respect for the Japanese island of Tsushima, the culture of samurai, and the Mongolian invasion of 1274. History aside, Ghost of Tsushima brings forth Sucker Punch’s most compelling protagonist with Jin Sakai, showcasing the illusion of choice among players as they are forced to betray the way of the samurai to illicit tactics both dishonorable and necessary to push back Mongol invaders. Exploring the open world is as beautiful as it is an adventure in itself, as howling winds take players to new sights. The story excels, the combat is addictive as it is smart with its multitude of parries and stances, and it’s a thrill from start to finish.
