A 22-year-old man riding on the back of a electric dirt bike in the Bronx was killed when the driver lost control and slid into an oil tanker truck, police said Monday.
The 24-year-old man operating the Razor dirt bike was heading south on Bruckner Blvd. in Mott Haven when he crashed into a Western Star tanker about 7 a.m. on Friday, cops said. The tanker truck driver was turning left off Southern Blvd., cops said.
The dirt bike’s operator and his passenger, Jaydin Arroyo, both fell into the roadway.
Medics rushed Arroyo to Lincoln Hospital, but could not be saved. He lived in Crotona Park East, according to cops.
The dirt bike’s operator was taken in stable condition at the same hospital. The 31-year-old tanker driver was not hurt.
No charges have been filed, but police are still investigating the crash.
