An Uber driver was found dead in his crashed SUV in the Bronx Thursday morning after being shot in the head, possibly during a road rage incident, in the first city homicide of the new year, officials said.
FDNY firefighters responding to an unrelated car blaze in the area found a blue Toyota RAV4 with Taxi & Limousine Commission plates crashed into a parked white sedan on Morris Ave. near the Cross Bronx Expressway service road just before 7 a.m.
The FDNY alerted cops, who determined 55-year-old Issa Mbolo Isac had been shot at least twice in the head.

Members of the New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the killer’s arrest.
Fernando Mateo, a spokesman for the group, said the killing took place during a road rage clash over a fender bender.
“They might have gotten into a little fender bender,” Mateo told reporters during a press conference at the taxi advocate’s Bronx headquarters. “The other two gentlemen who chased him down tried to physically take him out of the car, and when he refused to get out of the car, he accelerated the vehicle.

“These two individuals turned around and shot through the window, shooting him twice.”
“He’s married, with four kids in Burkina Faso,” Mateo said of the victim.
The victim’s brother joined Mateo at Thursday’s press conference, at which he condemned his brother’s killers.
“He had a very good heart, and he worked very hard to support his family,” Mounir Zoron, 35, said. “He never had any problems with anybody. He was trying to run away from them and they shot him.

“They are criminals,” he said. “They are animals. He did absolutely nothing to deserve this.”

No arrests have been made. Mbolo Isac lived in Throgs Neck, in the Bronx, according to cops.
“This was a disgraceful and cowardly act of violence,” Mateo said. “Someone out there saw what happened. We need them to come forward now.”
The victim’s SUV has stickers on its windows alerting passengers to the vehicle’s dash cam. The vehicle’s rear driver’s-side wheel was flat after the crash.

The victim previously drove a yellow cab, but sold his taxi medallion to fund the purchase of a house in Africa for his family, Mateo said.
Mbolo Isac split his Toyota with a friend, who drove the SUV for Uber during the day, while the victim used the vehicle evenings and nights.
“He started working at approximately 7 p.m. (on) New Year’s Eve,” said Mateo. “New Year’s Day is a very profitable day, because there aren’t that many drivers willing to work. So we do know that it was a profitable day for him, and he was probably on his way home.”
