Armament Haki can negate devil fruit abilities.
Conqueror’s Haki is the ultimate counter to devil fruits.
Haki has become an integral part of the One Piece story alongside Devil Fruits, both making for an amazing power system. Haki comes in different types, with different levels of mastery shown by various characters. With Haki, there are also powerful Devil Fruita, and Oda has consistently shown that both Devil Fruits and Haki are important to the story. However, Haki has also proven to be the ultimate counter to any Devil fruit ability, and it will play a major role during One Piece’s Final Saga.

The Power of Devil Fruits In One Piece
Logia Are The Hardest To Counter Without Haki
Devil Fruit powers are central to the story of One Piece. There are numerous known Devil Fruits in the series, and even more that fans have yet to see. They can be divided into three main categories: Paramecia, Zoan, and Logia. Even these three categories have more subcategories. For example, Special Paramecia are a thing, and Zoans can be Mythical or Ancient. Logias are the only type without a known subtype, at least for now.
Devil Fruits were the original power system in One Piece, but then came Haki, which was a major shift as it allowed characters to have a way to counter Devil Fruits, which are sometimes hard or straight-up impossible to counter without Haki.
Before the timeskip, and long before the concept of Haki was properly there, Luffy had to fight Logia Devil Fruit users on multiple occasions, and it wasn’t easy. To beat Crocodile, he had to find a natural counter to his Devil Fruit, which was water. And luckily for him, he was already the natural counter to Enel’s lightning.
The Haki Types That Can Counter Devil Fruits
Armament Haki Is Good, But There’s A Stronger Type
The two basic types of Haki that Oda has established in One Piece are Armament Haki and Observation Haki. When it comes to countering Devil Fruits, Observation Haki can’t really help much, however, armament Haki can be very useful.
It can allow characters to actually land hits on Logia Devil Fruits, or even Paramecia and Zoans who are offered certain protection by their fruits. That said, this isn’t the only way Armament Haki can counter Devil Fruits.
Indeed, armament Haki has been seen multiple times in the series negating Devil Fruit abilities entirely. For example, during the Onigashima raid of Wano, Trafalgar Law was unable to teleport Big Mom or Kaido using his Ope Ope no Mi due to the power of their Haki.
Additionally, Trafalgar Law himself made use of Armament Haki when he was faced with Blackbeard’s crew and turned into a woman by Doc Q. He was able to return to his normal form with the use of his Haki. Not only that, but his Haki turned his crew back to normal as well, showing complete Devil Fruit negation.
While Armament Haki is great, it’s still not the best option for countering Devil Fruit abilities. One unique type of Haki remains on top, but unfortunately, it can only be used by very few.
Conqueror’s Haki is The Ultimate Counter To Devil Fruit Abilities
The ultimate counter to Devil fruits has been shown to be Conqueror’s Haki. Until recently in the story, fans didn’t truly understand the true power of Conqueror’s Haki. After all, it was mostly seen used to knock out weak enemies or split the sky when two users came face to face.
The Wano arc and the Final Saga have definitely delved into the abilities of Conqueror’s Haki more, and there’s still a lot fans don’t know, but Oda has given a better idea about how it can be used.
Specifically, when one talks about Conqueror’s haki, there exists an advanced level that Luffy tapped into in Wano, simply known as Advanced Conqueror’s Haki of Conqueror’s Haki Infusion.

Gunko’s true identity is a mystery in One Piece. She might be related to Luffy.
Advanced Conqueror’s Haki has the ultimate ability to counter Devil Fruits. Joy Boy showed just how incredible it can be during the Egghead arc. In that arc, the Five Elders, who are monstrous in power and even immortal, popped up on Egghead via a summoning circle known as the Abyss. Emet, Joy Boy’s companion robot, unleashed the Haki he had stored from the former which knocked them all back to Marijoa and nullified the Abyss. This Haki feat is the greatest in the entirety of One Piece, and shows the full potential that Conqueror’s Haki has, if mastered.
