EA Sports FC 25 Officially Adds First Paid Battle Pass

EA Sports FC 25 has introduced a paid Season Pass for the first time, giving players access to exclusive content across all game modes. Until now, the Season Pass had always been a free feature in EA Sports FC 25 and its previous iterations, making this the first shift toward a premium model.

The introduction of premium Season Passes or Battle Passes in video games has become a widespread trend, offering players access to exclusive content that goes beyond what’s available for free in the base version of the game. This premium model, often with slight variations in structure, has been adopted by several popular free-to-play titles like Fortnite and Call of Duty: Warzone, delivering specially curated content designed specifically for paying players.

With the launch of Season 7 in EA Sports FC 25, the developers have announced the introduction of a Premium Pass, available starting April 24. This new paid version of the existing Season Pass offers even more rewards and exclusive content. The Premium Pass will cost 1,000 FC Points or 500,000 UT Coins, and includes Season Points for unlocking in-game rewards, content bundles for various game modes, exclusive EA Sports FC 25 Team of the Season Retro and PlayStyle+ Evolution Upgrades, tradeable player packs, and TOTS Flashback and Honorable Mentions cards for standout players based on their 2024/25 performances. At the highest tier of the Premium Pass, players can unlock Franck Ribery’s Immortal Icon card, featuring an impressive 96 OVR rating.

Much like other Season Pass systems, players can purchase the EA Sports FC 25 Premium Pass at any point during Season 7, allowing them to play and level up before deciding to invest in the upgraded version. The developers also clarified that players who choose to stick with the free path will continue receiving standard Season Pass rewards, which will keep “scaling throughout FC 25 as if there was no Premium Pass.” They emphasized that the Premium Pass is “purely additive” and does not affect the content available in EA Sports FC 25’s standard tier, ensuring paid upgrades won’t interfere with free progression.

It’s encouraging to see the game introducing extra content for players who feel the investment is worthwhile, giving them access to more features than the standard version. To maintain balance and fairness, players can continue to expect valuable and appealing rewards through the standard Season Pass. This approach helps ensure that the Premium Pass remains a completely optional upgrade, rather than a necessity to stay competitive with others. According to the developers, the premium additions shouldn’t impact overall gameplay performance. Both Battle Pass systems are designed to deliver exclusive and useful content across EA Sports FC 25’s modes like Ultimate Team, Clubs, and Career Mode.
