A 40-year-old man was shot to death around the corner form a Brooklyn deli near the elevated subway tracks, police said Thursday.
Robert Stewart was struck multiple times all over his body near Broadway and Lewis Ave. in Bedford-Stuyvesant about 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, cops said.
Medics rushed Stewart to Kings County Hospital but he could not be saved. He was about a mile from home when he was killed, according to cops.
Police recovered four shell casings at the scene. No arrests have been made.
As of Sunday, there had been one murder in Bedford-Stuyvesant’s 81st Precinct, compared to three by that point last year.
Last week, the Daily News reported Brooklyn went most of July — a record 29 days straight — with no slayings.
Citywide, homicides are down 26%, with 153 victims as of Sunday compared to 206 during the same time frame last year.
