Summary

NetEase Games will release the new game mode, Giant-Size Brain Blast, in Marvel Rivals on April 25.

Many fans have taken issue with the game’s newest currency, Unstable Molecules, which can only be attained with Lattice.

New skins for Loki and Hela inspired by Kirisaki Mountain will be available on April 24.

NetEase Games has announced that it will be releasing a new game mode for Marvel Rivals called Giant-Size Brain Blast, which will be available on April 25. Marvel Rivals recently released Season 2 of the popular hero shooter and introduced the Vanguard Emma Frost to the title’s ever-expanding roster. The villain Ultron is also scheduled to make his debut with the major 2.5 update.

NetEase Games recently courted controversy when it added costume customization to Marvel Rivals. While the idea was initially well-received by fans, the community was quickly disheartened by the fact that it would cost money and add a fourth currency to the game. Instead of being able to buy these new customization options with Units, players need to spend 600 Unstable Molecules. As of writing, the only way to attain Unstable Molecules is to trade it for Lattice, the game’s premium currency. This makes each customization option right around $6.

Marvel Rivals players aren't happy about performance-based skill ranking.

Marvel Rivals Fans Aren’t Happy About Recent Changes to Ranked Matches

Marvel Rivals players are asking NetEase Games to revert a recent change it made to ranked matches in the popular hero shooter.

NetEase Games has announced that it would be releasing a new game mode called Giant-Size Brain Blast on April 25. The trailer begins by showing Marvel Rivals’ Captain America transforming into what looks almost like a bobble-head version of the hero. The video then moves on to show Spider-Man, Loki, Moon Knight, and Venom getting the same makeover. Once the footage moves into gameplay, the audience can see that all of Marvel Rivals’ heroes are sporting the same aesthetic as they face off against one another on the battlefield. The animations of these bobble-style characters jumping around and attacking one another are humorous and a bit silly, which is likely the intent.

Marvel Rivals Is Launching a Giant-Size Brain Blast Mode on April 25

Players who decide to participate will have a chance to earn free event-exclusive titles and an emote in Marvel Rivals. While there’s no official word on when the event will come to a close, gamers will be able to begin playing on April 25. Many fans have noted that this game mode seems drastically different from the previous ones, as the “gimmick” doesn’t really include gameplay. Clone Rumble allowed teams full of the same hero to face off against one another, but the gameplay shown in the trailer appears to be completely unchanged aside from the characters having larger heads.

On April 24 at 7 PM PDT, players will have the opportunity to purchase new skins for the heroes Loki and Hela in Marvel Rivals. Both costumes have taken inspiration from Kirisaki Mountain, a location often used by Marvel. The heroes can be seen wearing traditional Japanese attire with a bright white and green color scheme. With a whole new game mode to experience and even more updates on the way, many fans are feeling optimistic about the future of Marvel Rivals.
