Uniqlo is rolling out some new Pokemon T-shirt designs that are based upon some of the most popular creatures from the original 151. Pokemon fans who love the original Gen 1 titles or are enjoying the recent release of Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen may want to check out this new collaboration.
Uniqlo is no stranger to participating in collabs with Pokemon, with numerous releases over the last few years. In 2025, Uniqlo introduced both Pokemon Sketch and Pokemon TCG collaborations, and now the retailer is celebrating where the series got its start as 30th anniversary celebrations for Pokemon continue.

Pokemon and Uniqlo Introduce New Gen 1 T-Shirts for Kids and Adults

Uniqlo has unveiled a new line of Pokemon shirts that will be available for purchase starting in mid-June. Ten shirts in total have been revealed, with six shirts intended for kids and four for adults. All the designs feature the classic Pokemon series artwork by Ken Sugimori. Adults can choose from two white T-shirts with one featuring the original Pokemon Red and Blue starters, while the second features Charizard. A black shirt with the original Fat Pikachu artwork, a blue shirt featuring Snorlax, and a gray shirt featuring Gengar are also available. Most of the designs are understated, with small images and branding, while Charizard and Gengar fill up most of the front of their shirts. All of the adult designs can be acquired for $29.90.

On the kids’ side, the same artwork featuring the Gen 1 starters, Charizard, and Fat Pikachu are also available, albeit on different shirt colors. Charizard is on a red kids’ shirt, Pikachu is on yellow, and the starters are on a cream-colored shirt. Additionally, the kid shirts include an exclusive black Mewtwo shirt, and Eevee with its original three evolutions on a white shirt. The children’s T-shirts are less expensive, at $19.90 each. Typically, designs like these are available both in physical retail stores and online, but fans will want to keep an eye out in June, as the past collaborations have often sold out.
It’s a big year for Pokemon, with plenty of recent reveals, celebrations, and anniversaries. In addition to it being the core franchise’s 30th year, it’s also the 10th anniversary of Pokemon GO, so the game is celebrating by holding its own Memories in Motion season. Meanwhile, the several ongoing Pokemon games are seeing unique events and giveaways. Additionally, Pokemon Winds and Waves were finally revealed during the Pokemon Day Presents showcase. Pokemon fans won’t be able to get their hands on those games until sometime next year, but with the reveal of the game environments and new starter Pokemon, there’s already plenty to speculate upon and be excited about.
In the meantime, players have also been thoroughly enjoying the recent release of Pokemon Pokopia. The new Animal Crossing-like game has received rave reviews from players and critics, and players are just beginning to discover how far they can go with the tools available to them. The game’s release has led to renewed popularity for Ditto, its main character, as well as a number of the unique versions of Pokemon in the game, like Mosslax and Peakychu. These Pokemon have proven to be popular enough that Pokemon Pokopia is getting more plushies based on those designs.
Those who may find they’re interested in Pokemon clothes but don’t see a design that interests them at Uniqlo may want to check out the Pokemon Center’s offerings, as it usually has numerous designs based upon popular Pokemon. It’s unlikely that this will be Uniqlo’s final partnership with Pokemon, so fans may be able to look forward to new designs in the future from the retailer.
