PlayStation Plus subscribers can earn a free Sony Pictures Core movie credit this month. Subscribers can obtain this free credit by playing Resident Evil Village for 30 minutes, a game that’s currently available on PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium.
April 2026 is turning out to be quite a busy month for PlayStation Plus. Those subscribed to any tier of PlayStation Plus can now redeem this month’s free PS Plus games, those being Lords of the Fallen, Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered, and Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream. PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers should also get access to another handful of games in the coming weeks. And in addition to these usual PS Plus benefits, subscribers can get a few limited-time freebies.
PlayStation Plus Subscribers Can Earn a Free Sony Pictures Core Movie Credit
From now until April 30, PlayStation Plus subscribers who play Resident Evil Village for a minimum of 30 minutes will receive a free movie credit for Sony Pictures Core, a service that’s available via the PS5’s media home page. This movie credit should be added automatically to the PlayStation user’s Sony Pictures Core app by May 8. This limited-time offer was first spotted by Reddit user wolfecho999, who shared details of it to the r/PlayStationPlus subreddit on April 7.
For those subscribed to PlayStation Plus’ Extra or Premium tiers, earning this free movie credit should be incredibly straightforward as Resident Evil Village is currently available in the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog, meaning that players simply need to download the game and put just 30 minutes into it before the April 30 deadline. Based on the wording of the official offer, it’s unclear if PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers can still receive the Sony Pictures Core movie credit if they play Resident Evil Village by other means, such as if they play their own digitally-purchased copy of the game for the required 30 minutes.
While there’s a wide range of movies currently available on Sony Pictures Core, first-time users should be advised that not every movie available on the platform can be purchased with just the one free credit awarded via this Resident Evil Village PS Plus offer. Many of the newest releases on Sony Pictures Core require multiple movie credits to purchase, meaning that new users will only be able to rent newer movies or purchase much older releases.

PS Plus Subscribers Can Earn Another Resident Evil Freebie This Month
This PlayStation Plus movie credit offer isn’t the only Resident Evil-related freebie that PlayStation users can grab this month. Also until April 30, PS4 and PS5 users can obtain an exclusive set of Avatars inspired by Resident Evil’s 30-year history. To claim these PlayStation Avatars, fans need to wishlist or purchase Resident Evil Requiem, download the Sony Pictures Core app on their PS4 or PS5, and sign up via Sony’s campaign website. Completing these three steps should reward fans with a voucher code that will be delivered via email or PlayStation app/console notifications, though this voucher may not arrive until late June 2026.
