One Piece’s Elbaf arc is going to be legendary.
The last arc of the One Piece anime was focused on Egghead Island, the home of Dr. Vegapunk. After a long tussle, the Straw Hats were able to leave the island along with Lilith and finally head to Elbaf.
What To Expect From One Piece’s Elbaf Arc
The Elbaf Arc Promises To Be Epic
One Piece will no longer air every week
The anime has become seasonal
Firstly, One Piece fans would do well to remember that the anime is no longer weekly. It has been confirmed that the One Piece anime is going to be seasonal. The anime will air a total of 26 episodes every year, and they will be divided into two cours. So, each cour will have 13 episodes each.
The decision was taken to give the staff some breathing room. Almost all the episodes of the Egghead arc were top-notch. In fact, a lot of them ended up becoming the highest-rated anime episodes of 2025. Naturally, such quality is not easy to maintain, which is why it makes sense for the anime to become seasonal, as it will allow the staff to rest properly and not overexert themselves.

When the anime returns, the animation quality will be immense, so fans won’t have to complain about that. There is no news about whether Toei Animation will be using new soundtracks for the Elbaf arc, but most fans will be hoping that the studio does add new ones. Additionally, each episode will adapt one chapter. It may not be the greatest pace, but it’s a lot better than Toei’s previous approach.
One Piece’s Elbaf Arc Will Be Its Best One Yet
From this point onward, there are heavy spoilers for the One Piece manga. The Elbaf arc sees the Straw Hat Pirates arrive on the land of giants. For years, fans have been waiting to see the heroes travel to Elbaf and see what the country looks like. Giants are one of the most culturally rich races in One Piece. Since they live for hundreds of years, they know about almost all the major incidents that took place across the world.
The Elbaf arc will also feature many new characters, including Loki, Scopper Gaban, Shamrock, Killingham, Gunko, and Sommers. All these characters are going to be heavily involved in the story in one way or another. Killingham, Sommers, and Gunko will act as the main antagonists of the Elbaf arc.
Their reason for traveling to Elbaf is quite sinister. They intend to kidnap the children and take them away from Elbaf. Furthermore, the Holy Knights also intend to bring Elbaf to its knees and force the giants to work for the World Government.
The Straw Hats Will Face A Major Challenge
As always, the Straw Hat Pirates will try to help the natives fight back against the villains. However, it won’t be as simple as their previous adventures. In the Egghead arc, the heroes learned about the immortality of the Five Elders. The Straw Hats stood absolutely no chance against the Five Elders and had to be rescued by Emet and the giants. Considering the heroes directly went to Elbaf, they will struggle against the Holy Knights as well. They will have to train or gather strong allies who can help them out.
