An 18-year-old man was shot to death during an argument on a Bronx street and a younger teen was latter arrested for the slaying, police said Thursday.
Estarling Peralta was shot in the head during a confrontation with his killer a block away from the Williamsbridge Oval park in Norwood about 5:50 p.m. Wednesday, cops said.
Medics rushed Peralta from the scene on E. Gun Hill Road near Putnam Place to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he died. He lived in the South Bronx, according to cops. He did not have a police record, cops said.
Police arrested a 17-year-old suspect just before midnight Wednesday. The suspect, who is not being named because he is a minor, is charged with murder and weapons possession, according to police.
The altercation “lasted less than three seconds,” said a local deli worker who did not witness the altercation when it happened but watched the scene later on security camera footage. “It didn’t seem like a fight because everything happened real quick.”
He did not recognize either of the people involved. “All I know is that they are not from around here,” he said.
