Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are moving back to Great Britain.
Their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, will start attending school overseas in September, according to People. The royal couple reportedly plan to be there for an “extended period” starting sometime this month.
The move comes a little more than a month after the prince and his family met with King Charles and Queen Camilla in the English countryside. That July visit marked the first time Markle and the children had seen their grandfather in four years.
The 77-year-old king was reportedly made aware on Sunday of his youngest son’s plans to return home.
The duke and duchess of Sussex have lived in the U.S. for six years. They’ll keep the California property they’ve called home while living in a private property in an undisclosed part of Great Britain that is not connected to the Crown, People reported.
Harry and Meghan relinquished their Frogmore Cottage property in 2023 at the king’s request after the 41-year-old scion published a memoir about life in the royal family. The king is said to embrace the opportunity to spend more time with his extended family now.
Despite returning to England, Harry and Meghan reportedly will retain their current status as non-working members of the royal family, free from the accompanying duties associated with those roles.
Harry is expected to remain focused on his charitable endeavors, including the Invictus Games. Meghan, an actor who starred on the USA Network program “Suits” from 2011 to 2018, is expected to continue working with her As Ever lifestyle brand.
