Here are some of the companies making headlines in midday trading. AI infrastructure — Artificial intelligence cloud computing stocks retreated on Wednesday amid concerns about the debt AI companies have amassed and the backlash against data centers. Nebius shares fell more than 8% Lumentum shares shed 7% and CoreWeave shares tumbled more than 7% to a 52-week intraday low. Some also came under pressure because of insider stock sales. Lemonade — Shares tanked 22% after the insurance company said its spending had increased significantly in the second quarter. Gross spending climbed 30% to $64 million, while technology development expense grew 34% from the prior year, to $30 million. SoFi Technologies — The digital financial services company’s stock dropped 9% to a 52-week low. SoFi posted a second-quarter beat on the top and bottom lines, raised full-year revenue guidance and reaffirmed guidance for earnings per share. It also reported a drop in technology platform revenue. Lennox International — Shares plummeted 20% after the heating and air conditioning company trimmed full-year guidance. Lennox sees earnings for the period ranging from $23 to $24 per share, down from an earlier range of $23.50 to $25 per share. The FactSet consensus was $24.44 a share. Caterpillar — Shares of the industrial equipment maker fell more than 7% after Baird Equity Research downgraded the Dow Jones Industrial Average stock to neutral . ″[It’s] not a blue vs. red state issue; investment hurdles are emerging everywhere,” the analyst said, noting the growing momentum behind the data center opposition. Semiconductors — The VanEck Semiconductor ETF (SMH) tanked for a fifth day, tumbling nearly 4%, as traders backed away from chip stocks. Shares of Advanced Micro Devices lost 5%, and Broadcom ‘s stock slid almost 2%. Nvidia ‘s stock dropped nearly 3%. Mondelez – The maker of Sour Patch Kids and Oreo cookies saw its stock jump 4%. Mondelez posted second quarter profit of 73 cents a share on revenue of $9.36 billion. Analysts polled by LSEG were looking for 68 cents per share and $9.20 billion. Adjusted gross margin of 34% also beat the StreetAccount consensus call for 32.8%. Biogen — Shares were up 2% after the biotechnology company beat Wall Street consensus estimates on revenue and earnings. The company also raised its full-year adjusted EPS guidance. Vertiv — The AI infrastructure provider’s stock tumbled 16% on mixed second-quarter results. While earnings and revenue beat analyst expectations, Vertiv’s organic year-over-year revenue grew 17.8%, below the FactSet consensus of 23.6%. Procter & Gamble — Shares dropped over 2% after the Ivory soap maker’s quarterly revenue missed analyst expectations . P & G’s top line in the fiscal fourth quarter came to $21.2 billion, just below an LSEG forecast of $21.38 billion. Net income fell to $3.04 billion from $3.62 billion a year ago. GE HealthCare Technologies — Shares were up 10% after the healthcare solutions provider reported second-quarterly adjusted earnings per share of $1.13, beating a FactSet consensus of $1.04 per share. The company also reaffirmed its full-year earnings guidance for 2026. Ford Motor — Shares climbed 3% after the automaker posted second-quarter adjusted earnings that beat expectations and hiked its 2026 earnings outlook. But the company’s automotive revenue came in slightly below the expectation of analysts polled by LSEG. Rocky Brands — Shares surged about 15% after the apparel manufacturer reported second-quarter earnings per share, excluding items, that more than tripled from the same period a year ago. The Ohio-based company said several brands saw strong double-digit growth rates and that it was aided by tariff refunds. PPG Industries – The paint and glass manufacturer’s stock dropped 6% after second-quarter earnings per share and adjusted EBITDA missed Wall Street analysts’ estimates. PPG reaffirmed its full-year guidance for earnings per share. KLA Corp – Shares slid 9% after the semiconductor equipment maker issued disappointing guidance. KLA sees first-quarter adjusted earnings of $1.16 per share, plus or minus 10 cents, while the LSEG estimate called for $1.14 per share. Revenue is expected at around $4 billion, plus or minus $200 million, compared with the Street’s estimate of $3.92 billion. Manhattan Associates – The supply chain software provider’s stock soared 25% after second-quarter earnings and revenue topped analyst estimates. Manhattan Associates also raised full-year profit and revenue forecasts. Teradyne – Shares of the maker of semiconductor test equipment gained 3%. Second-quarter adjusted earnings and revenue, and third-quarter profit and sales forecasts, all topped Street estimates, FactSet data showed. NXP Semiconductors – Shares of the designer of semiconductor products lost 7%. Non-GAAP gross margin in the second quarter was in line with the Street’s forecast, coming in at 58%. NXP anticipates adjusted earnings in the third quarter will range from $3.89 to $4.32 per share, compared with the LSEG estimate of $3.98 a share. Skyworks Solutions — The semiconductor manufacturer slumped 3% after adjusted margin in the third quarter narrowly missed analysts’ expectations, coming in at 44.9% versus the 45.0% anticipated.
