Ghost of Yotei’s Atsu will be getting her very own Magic: The Gathering card as part of a special collaboration between Wizards of the Coast and Sucker Punch Productions, increasing the number of special cards. A Magic: That Gathering Secret Lair drop containing the Ghost of Yotei protagonist and several other PlayStation heroes is scheduled for release in late October, so collectors should be prepared if they want to snatch them up.

Released exclusively for PlayStation 5 on October 2, Ghost of Yotei debuted with strong sales numbers, reportedly exceeding two million units sold within its first three days on the market. Those three-day sales numbers are quite comparable to those of its predecessor, Ghost of Tsushima, which has gone on to sell more than 13 million copies based on financial data released in September 2024.

Magic: The Gathering PlayStation Secret Lair Cards include Ghost of Yotei’s Atsu

Amid Ghost of Yotei’s recent success on PS5, Wizards of the Coast has announced that Atsu will be included as a Legendary Creature card coming in Magic: The Gathering’s Secret Lair x PlayStation drop scheduled for release on October 27. As shared with IGN in an interview, Wizards of the Coast had originally approached Sony Interactive Entertainment with the idea of including Ghost of Yotei’s protagonist in its special PlayStation set even before the video game had been revealed to the public. The idea was passed along to Jason Connell, creative director at Sucker Punch Productions, who reportedly felt that it would be a “great fit.” The result is a rare Human Rogue card that costs one blue and one generic mana, has one power and three toughness, and denies opponents from blocking creatures with a power or toughness value of one.

Along with Atsu, Ghost of Tsushima’s Jin Sakai will also make an appearance in the upcoming PlayStation-themed set, showing the respect that both Sony and outsiders have put on the franchise. Coming in a little heftier than Atsu with two power and four toughness, he also costs a bit more to get onto the playing field, requiring one generic mana and one each of white, black, and blue. He also allows players to draw a card whenever they deal combat damage to another player, and he can grant Ghost or Standoff to another controlled Creature when it attacks a player that no other Creature is attacking.

Magic the Gathering PlayStation superdrop

Also included in the Secret Lair x PlayStation drop are a couple more famous duos, including Joel and Ellie from The Last of Us and Kratos and Atreus from the God of War franchise. Other famous PlayStation figures making the cut are the Horizon franchise’s Aloy and Uncharted’s Nathan Drake.
